The Truth about our Schedule.............

Let's be real, the AFC East benefited last year from the easiest schedule in the league, and aside from the Patriots none of the teams are as good as their records implied last year. The NFC East will be tough (NYG, PHI) but still manageable and we still have a good chance of going 4-2 or 5-1 in the division, especially considering Tampa is now no longer really gonna be competitive. All told I think our schedule is MUCH easier than our opposing record would have you believe.

AFC East will not be a tough task.

New England - very good

Jets - No Qb and will revert back to a sub .500 team

Miami - did not beat a decent team last year. Got smoked by every good team they played.

Bills - still sub .500 team

They indeed benefited from Brady being hurt and fro a God Awful Easy Schedule.

Which what Hatter said is every reason the Bucs have just as good of odds to whipe the floor with the AFC East, the Bills will be the team to surprise people in that division. We know what to expect from Brady. Miami will probablly fall back off the wagon, the Jets were overrated anyway.

Wrong again....as bad as the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets are.....they are all still better thatn the Bucs.

You have no QB, an aging defense...not to mention you lost the one thing that mad eyour defense go in your DC. Bucs will be bringing up the rear in the NFC South.

Sorry but your not analyzing the Bucs correctly... all those AFC East teams are not better as a whole then the Bucs. The Patriots on the other hand, hands down are better then anyone in the South.

The Bucs do have a QB, which either guy will produce as well as Jake Delhomme, maybe even a tad less turnovers. Plus they are younger so you have a aging QB and #2 receiver out there helping highlight your offense.

Tampa has a fresh outlook and Jim Bates is a proven defensive co-ordinator, so I don't see a big drop off from our first 12 games of last season. Kiffin basically quit trying week 13 when he announced that week he was leaving to coach with his son, I'm sure that didn't play into his effort of scheming whatsoever though. Carolina barely won the majority of their games last season and face a harder set of teams this year, they have the same odds as the Bucs do.

Who exactly is there past 8 years pro on the Bucs defense aside Ronde Barber? Your really looking into facts before you speak from what I see lol... I guess we have a ton of aging players on defense with Brooks gone lol.. Your a tool Hatter.

And you are a troll trying to talk up your team on a rivals board....you my friend are the tool.

Talking up either team at this time of the season is nothing more than amusement. We will both have to wait and see how the season plays itself out.

My biggest concern with the Bucs was how they completely melted down the 2nd half of the season...not just one game, but the entire end of the season.

Losing Brooks may not be a big deal on the field (as he is aging), but his presence in your locker room will be missed.

the defense really showed their age in wearing down late last year....not to mention losing the best DC in the game. His loss alone makes the D worse off right out of the box.

Go ahead and put your eggs in the McCown basket....he may turn out to be fine, but he has done nothing in his career to warrant such high expectations.

Like every year, I look forward to the two battles between the Panthers and Bucs....if anything, they are always very emotional and physical ball games.

Enjoy the offseason and I look forward to a little more banter with you during the actual season.

Your perceiving me as a troll when I'm simply addressing the conversation at hand, being a troll would be constantly bashing the Panthers and having no positive remarks toward them... which isn't the case.

And it wasen't the entire second half of the season, it was 4 games. Which your defense on the other hand can be noted as melting down for the entire second half of a season. Losing Brooks is a positive and negative at the same time. Brooks having too much pride to let someone else step in, like what should have happened... cost him his job. Everytime a team goes through a transition, they look for other guys to step up and become leaders. Kellen Winslow will be a team leader on offense, Barrett Ruud and Aqib Talib are already taking leadership roles on defense. You remember, Brooks mentored Ruud and now Ruud can mentor the younger linebackers on the team... its not like the Bucs completely lost every piece that made them a winning team.

Ronde, Derrick, and Kevin Carter were the only true older vets on the team and Ronde still has solid football left in him... Else, he too would have been cut. This new defense is a new scheme and Brooks + June didn't fit the mold. Plus, the Bucs added a 120+ tackle guy in Angelo Crowell to replace June and Jermaine Phillips will take Brooks role. You have to remember that Phillips has a good repor with Raheem Morris and can help the secondary correspond to the linebackers effectively as he knows what kind of tricks a vet QB will try to play on a young defense. Truth is, the Bucs have been rebuilding their defense for the past 4-5 years... Piece by piece, it is all falling together but you don't want to see that as your mainly focused on Panther football.

McCown has more athletic ability then Delhomme, Leftwich is a solid backup... I'm fine with Luke, give the guy a chance... its a all new scheme and we might not be the best but I guarantee we won't be the worst team in the NFL as we still have a solid core of guys.

And I'll be around to keep the topics lively and a fresh perspective. People just wanna get all personal over discussing football typically. I can be on any level playing field to anyone's style. I just match each poster's personality when they speak to me.

so is sex.

uh, back on topic though, a lot of the reason we have a hard schedule is because the NFC south was a bitch to compete in last year. I don't think all 3 of our rivals will go out and break even or improve on their record from last year.

For that matter we can say the same thing about the AFC east. The Jets are most likely to plummet there.

I feel MIA will not be as good ether. I think Tampa will be better then everyone expects but ATL will def be hard because Ryan will be even better this year.

Check out the Southern Comfort portion of the forum. I'm tired of some Homer in here getting defensive about his team when a PANTHERS FAN on PANTHERS FORUM has something to say about them. I thought this was a thread about our Schedule this year...
