That's part of Elway's job, but I doubt he's making a special effort in this case. The Broncos had an end of season presser. He was asked a natural question. He answered.

Given that The Golden Calf of Bristol just won a playoff game a few weeks back though, I have a hard time understanding how he could be counted as "irrelevant for at least 8 months" :confused:

next year is critical to The Golden Calf of Bristol's future, will his game grow and develop with an entire offseason as the 'starter', or will teams completely figure out how to game plan for him and he will be a third stringer by week 8?

I think we've seen he can be an effective QB if he's playing in the right system. It remains to be seen if a team can go all the way with him but he can win some games. The problem comes if he gets hurt then the entire offense has to change depending on who the backup is. That's depending a hell of a lot on one player.
