Trade rumors may have validation

Funny thing is that it seemed like you guys were dropping him in coverage time to time. How was he not being moved around?

i say its true.because we have to rem fox does not prefer a sack to stoping the play..any other team would have peppers rushing the passer all the time and never droping..its just what fox wants..i hate it sometime but i like the fact that he is loyal.because anybody else would have drafted another DE when peppers had that 2 sack season and maybe gotten rid of peppers..so its just apart of the fox way...

and maybe him droping into coverage so much is what gave him the ideal to play in a 3-4...???

Granted Pep had 14.5 sacks last season, but he simply lucked up and stumbled onto half of those at least. Unlike in his earlier years when he flat out blasted the QB, these were results of the QB just falling to him for the most part.

Just my opinion.

Pep is a force when he's in space. He just doesn't have the (insert word of your choice here) to battle his blocker for an entire game and still make plays. I think he sees players like Ware in Dallas and thinks he could make twice as many plays as he's making now if he played in that kind of role. He might be right. A motivated, happy Julius is a force to be reckoned with. An "oh here we go again" Julius is average.

Well let's see... I don't recall Reggie White or Michael Strahan being moved around much and somehow they managed to "reach their potential".

It's like other coaches and GM's have said, when you play DE in a 43 scheme your job is to go get the QB, if your not reaching your potential in doing that - it's on you.

I just hope after one BORING offseason we Panther fans get something to be excited about. Moving Peppers is not exciting, it hurts our team on the defensive line GREATLY! We better make some damn good draft choices or RB's we play this year ( Turner, Bush, Jacobs, Westbrook, Portis, Barber ) are going to make our defense look like swiss cheese. This very trade could mean the difference between our near future being super bowl contenders or 6-10/7-9 until we fix this mess or Fox is gone...Just remember as much as Pep has done us wrong by acting up, a talent like his is hard to come by.

i dont want to start a new thread but schefter says he thinks the chiefs are going to make a move on draft day

Really? Was this on espn or did you have a link?

You know I have thought a bit about the Chiefs. I don't see how they would give up their #3 for Peppers, plus additional picks. So I am thinking they might want to move Glenn Dorsey. I could possibly see a Glenn Dorsey plus picks for Peppers. If not, I don't see how they give up more than the #3 pick.

Many people see Glenn Dorsey as a bust. But he was on a shitty defensive line and managed 46 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. A DT with 46 tackles? He wasn't the problem.

    • Him and Sanders are the only QBs I would consider in the first round. I won’t be upset if we take Sanders, unlike some people on the board. Both have potential to be really good NFL QBs if the teams can develop them.  But as we have seen teams are not willing or are unable to now properly develop rookie QBs.
    • I remember the last time we had a Cam at QB in Charlotte
    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
