Bears schedule

If Pace is a top 10 LT in '09 then I'm the f---ing pope. Very telling when a team with as many holes as the Rams lets a premier position (LT) just walk.

He is older. He was released due to salary cap issues. He's still a top 10 LT. If he isn't, then name me 10 that are better

I hate how they rate the schedules difficulty on what your opponents did last season. teams go from worst to first every year and nothing is set in stone, that's why I don't by into the whole dificult/weaker schedules hype. It's about "this season", not last season not next season. The Bears maybe playing a lot of teams that weren't that good in 08 but this is 09 and any team can turn it around quick(see Miami and Atlanta in 08). One thing that worries me is that the Bears start 4 of their first 6 games on the road. On the other hand they get 3 home games in December which may not bode well for opposing teams coming to Soldier Field in Bear weather. if the Bears do start off hot and roll through the season in winning fashion, look for the reasoning amongst rivals to be the ever so popular " they played a weak schedule" reasoning. just saying.... On any Sunday.

And that's just off the top of my head.

There's not a single team in the NFL that would release a top 10 LT to make salary cap space. He's just not a top LT anymore. I honestly don't even think he should be a starter at this point, and apparently the Rams don't either.

Add Joe Thomas, Marcus McNeill, and possibly Bryant McKinnie to that list.

Maybe the Bears could pick up Marvin Harrison so they can have a top 10 WR too.

lol

I have to agree with the bearhateraders though. Pace is not any kind of long term answer. He's a bandaid for this year, if he can even stay on the field.

The Oline is a significant concern given age at key positions IMO.

Still, not going in to a season worrying about QB is the weirdest feeling as a Bear fan I've had.

I will say I'm worried about who is backing him up. Caleb Haney and my ex-Wildcat and panther. Yikes.

The Viqueens are a QB away from being a really good team.

The Packers are moving to a base 3-4 D, without the personnel to do it, so I expect them to struggle a bit at first.

The Loins are the Loins until further notice. I'm sure some prognosticators of questionable intellect will still pick them to be "up-n-coming" however.

I think it's still a 3 horse race, all three teams have question marks but they also have some strengths. We'll probably know more after the draft...

Even switching over to the 3-4 the defense for the Packers can't be as bad again as it was last year.
