You can't remove an offer to someone if you outbid someone to be top bid. It screws with the others person's money for the fact that that $4 he had bid, may already be spent somewhere else. The only way you can really remove a bid without screwing someone else up is if no one else has previously bid on that player.

Why can't you remove a bid? It's your money to do with as you wish.

Only once you've officially signed the player should that be an issue.

So you would like it if you bid on a player, got outbid, then decided to spend the money elsewhere, only to have the player you had planned not to have dropped on you? And even if you still wanted the player at the price you originally bid, that would lead to more recinded bids to make the cap work, thus screwing up more and more people. At an auction, if you are the top bid, you cant be like "My bad, I decided I didn't want to spend money on this."

I saw other doing it, so that's why I did. I asked DaCityKats and he said we could even though it doesn't state anywhere that you can.

I would understand if the person below me spent his money elsewhere and ultimately he should be able to choose whether he wants him or if can't afford him. It's not entirely like an auction because the transaction isn't simultaneous. So that's where it gets tricky, but I understand why people don't like it.

I don't have an issue with removing bids as long as it doesn't affect other teams. By the rules, if you ever bid over your allotted cap amount, then you are penalized $10. Technically since he would now be the top bidder, that would be on his cap, and if he didn't have the room for it he would be over, thus costing him $10. I understand this could be given a free pass by DaCityKats, but where does it end? If everyone is allowed to remove top offers on people, then its just too much trouble and too much to keep track of...not that its not hard enough already. Its a cascading effect, where one person cancels a bid, then the person who had the top bid had to cancel a couple to make up the cap room and it goes on an on. Its also not an auction in a real life scenario.

Edit: I could also understand rescinding the offer a short period of time after the initial bid, but you are removing it 22 hours later. 2 Hours before the signing deadline.

At least I was kind enough to go back and find the next highest bid and the time. I made a trade and now longer have a need for Trufant.

No offense, but thats like saying after dinner, "I pulled your car around for you, even though I just stuck you with the bill."

Not really, because he can retract his offer as well. He doesn't have to sign him. Poor analogy.

I was just saying that some people are rescinding their offers without letting the person next in line know they are leading.

Not going to spam this thread anymore as it should be for offers and signings only. DaCityKats will handle it all.

I just went back through and skimmed, it looks like you are the only one rescinding offers as the top bid and leaving it to someone else. The only other person that might be, is the Chargers, on laurent robinson($2). I didn't see another bid on him, but I could have missed it. The only other rescinded offers were on $1 bids.

Edit: The laurent robinson thing is a moot point anyways, because people have already bid over the amount that he had bid.

I can guarantee you I haven't been the only one and certainly not the first. I saw someone else do it and that's when I asked DCK. If it makes you feel any better I will sign Trufant. Or should I leave that up to the Raiders Owner?
