Honestly I'm speculating based on what I remember. You may well be right... I just think there's a bit more to it than meets the eye from simple observation. Someone would have to dig up advanced defensive statistics over a ten year period to determine either way.

@ PhillyB, No worries.

Fox had good days here and bad.

I had some great times at that stadium and some of the worst ever while he was here.

After that beatdown by the Cardinals, Fox was done.

He stayed with a beatup QB 2 years too long and it collapsed around him, even so, if he had put Gamble on Fitzgerald, things might have been different, but, you knwo, Foxball, his way.

Cute anecdotal generalization but half the years fox was here we fielded a top fifteen defense. Once Meeks arrived and switched to a Tampa Two where tight ends could slip into holes in the zone we became much more prone to being beaten there. The last couple of years of Fox's tenure were the most frustrating as a whole, so perhaps those years stand out more in your mind.

meh...defenses were typically ok, but they were always weak against TEs and they only got worse with a tampa2.

fox never respected the evolved role of a TE on offense or defense and his teams always suffered for it.

Fox had some good games here and did a lot for the organization but after that Cardnials game I was done with Fox ball, TE'S did kill us game after game but nobody has stopped the patriots TE's this year
