Saints and Falcons both without 1st round picks for 2012 draft

The total number of picks given up for Julio is funny as hell:

their 1st- (27th overall), second- (59th) and fourth-round (124th) picks last year and their first- and fourth-round picks in 2012

.

Unbelievable. How high did they get?

Imagine us winning the coin flip over Miami and having some QB-needy team pulling an Atlanta from last year and trading us a slew of picks to move up and grab Tannehill. With Miami needing a QB and with Ponder going so high last year you never know.

:iagree:

That scenario would be ideal. Unfortunately, Tannehill has an injury and may not be able to work out for a month or so. That may reduce his ability to move up draft boards.

Saints and Falcons both made the playoffs........

which means their first selections will be towards the bottom of the 2nd round. we'll have 2 picks before either team has one. if we pull of a trade down for say a mid 1st + 2nd then we'll end up with 3 picks before either of them have their first.

also as noted they each have key free agents, so it's possible they lose some guys there and combined with a the lack of early picks it's very possible they take a step backwards.

there's definitely a gap in talent we have to make up (especially with the saints) but we're in a good position to do just that so long as we have a good draft ourselves.

just to note, there's only one other team without a 1st rounder. oakland is also without their 1st after shipping out a 1 and 2 for palmer. great company our competition is in, don't you think? :D

and as far as the bucs.... lol wgaf

This thread is stupid.

Saints have a Super Bowl ring. Falcons made the Playoffs this year and last year. Nothing is certain until it happens. So stop trying to make yourself feel better about our hapless team.

FFS, if you're going to try and troll you have to do a better job than that.

Saints/Falcons no #1 picks!

Its not about feeling better about anything. Those two moves were 'win now' moves, and neither had any impact on the teams success.

And who gives a poo about making the playoffs if you go out in the first round? its a waste. A team like us that wins 6 games and goes is different. Once you have an established team there are no excuses.

Seems like the Buccs Aints and Failcons are self destructing while we are a up and coming team I really think we can go deep in the playoffs next year as long as Rivera gets the D under control. If Chudz really wants to be a head coach he will need to get some playoff wins if not a championship for teams to want to take a risk on him being a head coach. Multiple teams have already said they like what he's about but he just isn't ready yet.

obviously with both teams making the playoffs and us sitting at 6-10 they were better than us this year.

i was pointing this out to show we are in a good position to overtake them and make a run at the division title next season.

i didn't think this logic would be so tough for some people to follow, my bad
