Chud Watch 2012

I just don't get why he'd leave after ONE season. Especially to just leave such a great project with so much promise.

And on top of all of it to leave to a division rival? You just gotta think that Chud wouldn't screw us over that badly, especially since we brought him into this great situation.

Guys that have already been head coaches before can turn down offers.

Ones that haven't had the job yet don't really have that luxury.

If someone makes him an offer, I suspect he'll take it. And honestly, I can't blame him.

My hope is that nobody makes him that offer; at least not this year.

At this point, I question whether they're going to make him an offer.

That said, I'd offer him the raise/title/whatever anyway just on principle.

Does Rivera subscribe to the "Assistant Head Coach" school of thought? Just curious.....I'm not aware of an assistant head coach here.

Some pertinent happnins'

Dolphins hired Joe Philbin as their HC (reportedly found Mike Zimmer 'too direct' for them). Zimmer is arguably the best candidate left in the Bucs pool, though no telling if that's how they see it.

Colts new GM is a former Philly guy who's reportedly interested in talking to Eagles alum Brad Childress. No indication (yet) that the Colts - or the Raiders - have any interest in Chudzinski.

Here's hoping...

The assistant HC title is usually given to circumvent the NFL rule that prevents position coaches and coordinators from making lateral moves.
