Chud Watch 2012

Well I was referring to in this particular case the report that they wanted an experienced coach after the Raheem experiment.

From the list I've seen, I think the only experienced guy they've reached out to is Schottenheimer, who said he wasn't up for it. They didn't go after Fisher, and I've seen no mention of Brian Billick, Bill Cowher or anyone else.

So I guess the organizational philosophy on this one is to build a star rather than hire one.

The right path for them right now? That's debatable I guess.

I was thinking Mike Sherman, Brad Childress.

Or maybe I was hoping that..one of the two

I would think that Tampa needs someone who can fill the seats and bring some optimism to their team. I don't get the sense that Chud would do that. After hiring Raheem who had a short resume, I can't imagine they won't try and get some one with experience. On the other hand they are known for being cheap. They might not exactly have people lined up to want to coach there. They don't pay their players and will likely try to go cheap on

a coach as well.

Apparently they also interviewed Mike Sherman. And reportedly, Wade Phillips turned down an interview request. Also, I heard they did look into Fisher (as well as some of the other big names out there), but he wasn't interested. So, I think ideally they want someone with experience. And supposedly, they want someone that can instill some discipline.

Personally, I think right now they have someone in mind, but they are/were still in the playoffs until this past weekend. So I believe the people they have interviewed are more fallback options for them. And I honestly don't believe that Chud is a priority candidate. I think they are interviewing him just to make sure they do their due diligence and don't miss out if he is the real deal and ready...as well as hopefully glean some info on us.

I honestly wouldn't judge anybody in the current list of candidates as much of a "seat filler".

Of the choices still listed, I think the best option is Mike Zimmer, but he may go to Miami. Could pretty easily see Fewell getting the job too.

Dunno if it matters be Joeseph Person said on his twitter that the Panthers were waiting and seeing what happened with Chud and they they would offer him a nice raise to try and keep him from leaving for TAMPA.
They probably suffered 66% of their embarrassing losses to us...Chud left an impression :D....could see the offer getting made on the cheap, he can't command the $$$ that other candidates will get.

At this point, I question whether they're going to make him an offer.

That said, I'd offer him the raise/title/whatever anyway just on principle.

I just don't get why he'd leave after ONE season. Especially to just leave such a great project with so much promise.

And on top of all of it to leave to a division rival? You just gotta think that Chud wouldn't screw us over that badly, especially since we brought him into this great situation.
