weird that some people only come around for the season

to me the season is the least bearable part of the year to be hanging around

the real advantage of a good forum surfaces when there aren't any mention of the forum subject in the media for morons to comment on and claim as their own

yes, every poster is a contributor by definition but a good forum is one that can be a go to source for up to date information which is compiled by what I am referring to as a "contributor" here.

It all comes down to what you use a forum for. I prefer the opinion of the informed poster in an anonymous forum over that of the media pundits so forums, on all sorts of subjects, have always been a lazy way for me to learn what is new without RSSing hundreds of feeds or further skewing Google's stranglehold on the internet's ability to provide real "information".

The opinions are entertaining and sometimes thought provoking in spite of the lunatic fringe who take issue with common sense and basic logic, but aside from the entertainment, the information is what makes a forum a success for most subjects.
