What I'm saying though is Johnson could add a good dimention to spell Diggs on 3rd down to help with the pass rush. It might be his ability to cover is why they wouldn't try to experiment with him much though.

If they rarely did it with peppers there not going to do it with johnson, are depth at LB is fine.

LOL No, what you're saying is that you don't have any real understanding of our team, or even football in general. Thanks for stopping by though.

Seems like people try to argue with me whether they know what they are talking about or not, when I'm simply offering conversation to the topic. But yea, Johnson could probablly produce more then Tyler Brayton given the chance sc... it'll probablly come down to whether Meeks thinks he'll excel as a starter or be a better fill in guy.

Yea, yet he's versatile enough to stop the run cuz of his size and has enough speed that he could rush off the edge. Isn't that what you want from a OLB?... I mean, or are you just going to try to make some invalid point so you can continue to try to argue when there is no need for it?

if we were running a 3-4..then maybe but thats not the case so he stays at DE

Considering the fact that LB is the position we have the most depth..............

Considering DE is a position we need to address................

we should take a possible starter at DE and move him to OLB?

Johnson is definitely more of a pass-rushing than a run-stopping DE.

Realistically the areas we should see the most change in the defensive scheme this year is at the DL and coverage.

Johnson fits into what appears to be Meek's style of DE play.

there is a point to aruge, he's arguing that putting charles johnson at LB is crazy

1.) he's a decent end but nowhere close to being able to play LB in our system

2.) you said he has a good motor, speed off of the edge, and size. Those are good qualities for a DE/3-4 OLB but not for a 4-3 LB in fox's sytem. He's nowhere near as fast as beason or davis. Also, his "good size" means he's 275lbs. That's really heavy for most 4-3 LBs. Look at the previous/current LBs in our system, do they remind you of charles johnson?????

We already do utilize DE's as stand up rushers, in zone blitzing, they cover the flats as well which I don't think you were aware of.

It's just so wrong on so many levels.

The ONLY two des on this team that would ever play lb here or anywhere is else would be peppers obviously and Hille Taylor, 6ft 2 alot lighter than johnson can hit and is very fast, buts not going to happen on this team.
