don't drive. at least drink a glass of water every half hour. avoid sleeping in bushes.

All good advice. I would also recommend hanging out near the designated driver, and he/she can also help you with the inevitable beer goggles situation. You don't want to think you are going home with this:

learn to say "I'll do one in a few minutes" when someone asks if you want a shot...I know that sounds like the pussy thing to do, but after doing 10 shots back to back....it's not gonna be pretty and it can go downhill real quick ...of course..you say, "f*ck yes!" every now and then though :)
