Bengals extend Jay Gruden 3 years AND Double his salary (reportedly)

As to Chudzinski, I'm pretty sure his agent will make sure the Panthers front office sees this story (and the numbers included therein).

I know the Panthers have finally been doing some things different over the past last 10 months or so, but have they ever given a coach a new contract to keep him from leaving?

I'm all for keeping Chud and had initially hoped JR would open up the checkbook to entice him to stay. But reflecting on it a bit more, I believe the Panthers are resigned to the fact that Chud is too good to not become a HC soon...it's just the nature of NFL success. Plus if the Rams, the only team interviewing him, make an offer, I don't think a pay raise by the Panthers would make a difference...he's gone.

If Chud stays and we have a really good season, I expect he's a head coach in 2013. That's what I'm hoping for, because I think Norv Turner will be available after next season (should have been this year).

Dalton has a good arm and good accuracy. He will be a contender. Especially growing with another wide receiver who got drafted in the same draft. The coaches know it too, they want to stay. The Bengals will be in the post season again.

I hope Chud feels the same with our team and I hope we can find a young WR Newton can mesh with.

Why do people keep bringing up JR like he is not spending money? Its Chuds choice to go to these interviews and its clear he wants to be a coach. No amount of money is going to stop him from doing that, and its clear Gruden does not want to be a HC. IMO we should keep his contract the same as last year because at some point whither its now or next year he will be gone...
