Scumbag John Fox

Look, Foxy fell into the perfect storm this year. Running the option IS Foxball. If you look up "three yards and a cloud of dust" in the dictionary, Fox' picture is there.

He got into this situation with a quarterback he didn't particularly like and figured The Golden Calf of Bristol would just have to play himself out.

It reached a point where Fox thought the season was over in Denver. What happened in Carolina every time the Panthers were eliminated? Fox opened it up, played non-Foxball and won when it didn't count.

Actually, the only problem with Foxball is everything has to be PERFECT. Playing to "not lose", rather than "to win", requires that EVERYTHING fall your way. Just like in 2003, he has to win challenges, he has to win coin tosses, he manages the game to not lose and waits for someone else to provide him the opportunity to win. How else do you explain a super bowl season bookended by 8 years of, mostly, mediocrity?

Same this year, good defense, don't make mistakes, sit back and wait for that opposing running back to run out of bounds instead of running out the clock, sit and wait for that fumble at the end. Don't win, just don't lose.

Fox's style of coaching will work 1 out of 9 times.

Elway isn't gonna buy into the system for long.

Its a gimmick offense

N F L defense's will be caught up next season

Then Fox & Elway will be exposed

It's avtually the opposite.. passing offenses are gimmick offenses.

The Golden Calf of Bristol makes a run game unstoppable all things being equal between both teams.

I think it's hilarious people say The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't a good QB when Cam learned everything he knows from The Golden Calf of Bristol. Cam didn't know how to win this season until The Golden Calf of Bristol started and showed him how to do it. Cam quit passing so much and his numbers looked identical to The Golden Calf of Bristol's and he started winning more.

Cam won because of his great coaching and talent around him. The Golden Calf of Bristol won more than Cam IN SPITE of poor coaching, a organization that didn't want him and poor talent around him.

Cam could have NEVER survived in the situation The Golden Calf of Bristol was in... he doesn't have the mental toughness.

Great post and summary. The stars aligned this year for Fox and his boy wonder. Incredible run of luck.

We will see broheim...

I remember everyone said Sam Bradford was going to light the world on fire after his first season just like Cam... and last season with Bradford I never saw what others saw. I feel the same about Cam.

Kyle Orton put up great numbers last season but his defense and run game stunk. Neither could win a game... Cam is the same way with far more talent around him even...

Keep drinking the Cammy Cam juice.. just like when he was in college..

I remember when Cam was in college people said he had to be better than The Golden Calf of Bristol because he won with less talent. Then this last season even with auburn losing a whole team of seniors along with Cam they still beat Florida..

The Golden Calf of Bristol never beat Auburn in his career in college even though they had no Cam. Auburn was built perfectly for a run first QB like Cam.

He has been incredibly lucky his whole career.. ironically all the excuses people used for The Golden Calf of Bristol's domination are actually true of Cam... he will be exposed very soon. He already has if you aren't drinking the cammy cam juice...

100% gimmick and good for one season. Must use before it expires.

The Golden Calf of Bristol domianted even with a mediocre run game around him. McGahee is not that good and Moreno was injured. Imagine if The Golden Calf of Bristol had cam;s runners... and Steve Smith.. and Cam;s tightends.. he would be totally unstoppable..
