Not sure I agree with that. Up until that running TD (which was not needed) Trent was pretty absent. McCarron did very well with throws all over the field against arguable the best secondary in CFB.

Bama moved the ball better with Lacy.

Lacy didn't start getting a lot of carries until the game was wrapped up though. Three of his 11 carries came in the final possession of the game.

However, Lacy did still play very well when he was in the game.

I think that the teams in the National Championship were obviously correct, as far as the current rules for the BCS go. These were the two best teams in the nation.

Does that mean that the game was watchable? Absolutely not. That game was atrocious.

Is it the best we have? For now, yes.

But this is the type of scenario that demands for a playoff game. We have Ok. State, who just beat Andrew Luck, and we have a team so stifling on defense, that it made an offense completely irrelevant for sixty minutes.

There needs to be a playoff system.
