BCS NCG: Bama vs LSU

HeatCheck

Maybe a team that actually won or played in their conference championship game for one.

And not a team that had to scrape in the second half just to put away Georgia Southern

Oregon already played and lost no

Wisconsin no

Poke State maybe, but again no

Clemson lol no

WVU already played and lost no

Boise lost and with the cupcake schedule no

Boise vs Arkansas would be a good match up imo.

A +1 system would solve most of these problems anyway. Just have the winner of the Fiesta Bowl (which was OK St) play the winner of the game tonight.

To be honest LSU would play Stanford and Bama would play OSU. And then we have what we have tonight.

I certainly don't think Oklahoma State would have been blown out by one of those two teams. Oregon gave them a good game (much more competitive than the final score indicated) at LSU.

Jerry World.

and agreed on the second part

Auburn is a mid tier SEC school as is Miss State:rolleyes: The B1G does suck so you have a point there, but that's not the SEC's fault that the rust belt gets the benefit..oh and Arkansas lost to LSU and Bama 41-17 and 38-14 so again your point?

My point is that the ACC, Big East, and Big Ten are absolute pooty so when all your bowl games are against those conferences you will have a good bowl record.

And the KSU point is that KSU was not even close to as good as their record. every one of their wins were by a touchdown or less except Kent State and Kansas and that includes a 10-7 win against Eastern Kentucky.

They had a good year, but they easily could have not even been in a bowl game at all.

So the argument you are standing on is that the second best team in that conference isn't anywhere close to being as good as the third in the SEC west.

Ah. Nice one, teeray.

Kansas State had one of the better defenses in the Big XII. I would not call them overrated at all, if anything they were overlooked.

I hate when people say teams could have been better than their record or teams could have been worse than their record record. They were a 10-2 team and lost to a 10-2 Arkansas team. If the BIG XII is a good conference then going 10-2 in it should be an accomplishment.

I agree with you but by every way possible to measure teams against each other LSU and Bama are the 2 best teams. Any other game would be a guaranteed blow out.

+1 is the way to go

Ah now we get to the root of the argument it's about time.

It's as simple as this: Everyone who matters feels that the Alabama was better than Oklahoma State. The Fiesta Bowl solidified those opinions. Perhaps you don't watch much SEC football, perhaps your opinion is warped because you don't like the conference, but when it comes down to it, you are in an ever waning minority.

My dad is an Auburn alumnus and I watch every SEC game that comes on TV because that is all he talks about.

That is why I know that a team that finished .500 in the SEC but couldn't beat Utah State without a miracle and another team that dominated the conference but struggles against Charleston Southern is an overrated conference.

It is actually because I do watch the games that I say that, I don't sit back and wait for the Gameday crew to tell me who is good.

If that happened, I'd welcome the SEC rematch. I do not like Alabama sliding into a national title game with as many losses as two other key teams before the Fiesta Bowl happened. Not only that but can you imagine if pre-season ranking never happened? It'd shake up a lot of things. Bama is lucky to be there tonight. I have school anyway and couldn't watch it if I wanted to.

Their defense was awesome unless they played a team with an offense like Ok State, Oklahoma, and Baylor who combines averaged @ 50 points a game against them.
