#2 Alabama Crimson Tide (11-1)

Key Players

QB AJ McCarron

RB Trent Richardson

WR Marquis Maze

LB Courtney Upshaw

SS Mark Barron

Coach: Nick Saban

Pass Game: EVEN

Personally feel the most polished QB in this game is the player that will be playing the least, Lee. Jefferson came in during the Bama game and turned the tide of the game. He was the X-Factor that helped LSU win the game. AJ McCarron won't be asked to do much but he is underrated when it comes to passing. LSU's receivers are a tad better but McCarron has some targets to throw to, even Richardson out of the backfield.

Run Game: BAMA

LSU has plenty of RBs to throw at you, Hilliard, Ford, Ware and Blue but Bama has the best. Richardson was a beat in the previous meeting, this time just needs to get into the end zone. Slight edge to Bama but LSU will have the advantage in depth. Don't count out Lacy either.

Defense: EVEN

Two different types of defenses. LSU is more opportunistic, faster, and more athletic. Bama is hard nosed and more power oriented. LSU specializes in the secondary while Bama's strength is up front.

Special Teams: LSU

Many would argue that Bama's special teams lost the game for them last time. I would agree to a certain extent but those FGs weren't gimmes. Some I wondered if Saban should have punted and played for field position. LSU's real advantage comes in punter Brand Wing, where returns are a rarity. Also, you have to like LSU's return game better in Mathieu. Maze is no slouch either though.

Coaching: LSU

Not saying Miles is a better coach. Just think his quirkiness and ability to coach in big games will be an edge for LSU. Saban is still a great coach but with Miles, you always have to be on your toes.

*For the non-CFB fans there is at least plenty of NFL prospects to watch. Many of whom will be on the Panther's radar.

I'd almost guarantee one of the players on the field tonight are a Carolina Panther in four months.

A defensive needy team watching two great defensive college teams.

Hard for me to pick who I want to win. Since I live in both of these team's territories, I have no desire to hear from their obnoxious fanbases.

Where's the option for Who Cares, Why Do I Want To Watch An SEC Rematch?

lol

It's like someone sneaks into your home and shits in your cereal every morning and then forces you to come to the huddle and open/comment in threads you apparently hate.

I'm not even watching. I'm tired of the over saturation of the SEC. The SEC was not that good this year and I just have to listen to another year of how the SEC has won titles in blah blah blah years.

It is easy to win a lot of NCs when you are guaranteed at least one team in every year no matter how many games they lose, or whether they even play in a conference championship game or not, and then they usually get to play against a pooty Big 10 team that was just good enough to beat a bunch of sh*tty teams in that weak ass conference.

Who would you have them play? maybe the Pac champ Oregon? lol

maybe Poke State? after watching the Fiesta it became evident to me that they would have been bitch smacked by either LSU or Bama (and I wanted them to be given the chance until that game)

So they beat the middle tier teams of the ACC (Virginia and Wake), enjoy the benefits of being tied in with the pooty Big 10 (Nebraska and Ohio State), and beat an overrated KSU team that only beat one quality team this season (Baylor) barely.

Yeah well when you mostly play ACC, Big East, and Big Ten schools your bowl record will be pretty awesome.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
