So Tebow will be considered the "hero" of that game...

The hate comes from the fact that The Golden Calf of Bristol is front page news and Cam isn't. Thats the bottom line round here.

Newton is front page news plenty, but it's not like the media outside Charlotte can spend all their time concentrating on the Panthers.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is a legit story right now. And I say that as someone who was firmly entrenched in the "oh please Panthers do not draft The Golden Calf of Bristol" crowd when we were on the clock. Frankly I wouldn't trade a third string tight end for him even now.

Doesn't change the fact that the Broncos made it to the playoffs and they won that game. And no it wasn't "in spite of The Golden Calf of Bristol" (that whole notion is just dumb).

We're not in the playoffs right now. Why should anyone talk about us?

Now this time next year,on the other hand...

Leave it to John Fox. Have 1 good year, then the rest are.... over .500 1 season, under .500 next season...rinse and repeat.

Another thing that gets me is that the Broncos lost their last 3 games in a row. BAD...... Only thing putting them in playoffs was how crappy their division is. Better teams should have made the playoffs instead of them. Again, Broncos getting the lucky end of the stick this season.

I don't hate The Golden Calf of Bristol and I don't care that he's getting coverage now and not Newton (that's ridiculous, Newton isn't doing anything but working out right now), but today was a fluke. Until he does it regularly, it's the definition of a fluke. Throwing a good pass 10 or 15 yards and having your WR take it the rest of the 65-70 yards isn't a huge deal for a QB...but I guess it was such a big deal for him because he's never shown he can make routine throws. Congrats The Golden Calf of Bristol, I was rooting for him today (dislike the Steeler hype), but until he can start hitting the tough throws he'll still just be a below average QB that's getting carried by the team around him. A QB should carry his team, not the other way around.

I will say that right now I'd rather have him than Matt Ryan though :)

Meh, I don't know about this; I think it contradicts the entire definition of "team" if you demand that one person carry the team, or imply that one person is the most important. Now, we the fans and the media have definitely made it that way, but I think that's disingenuous. Football is a team sport, perhaps the only truly team sport that we have. Everything anyone does is predicated on a football player's teammates. That's unique among american sports, and I honestly think we don't know how to handle that. So we get these weird comments about how, you know, The Golden Calf of Bristol's OT pass wasn't that good because his teammate dared to, you know, be a teammate and do his best to advance the ball.

IDK, it's just something I've been thinking about for awhile. Football's like the only sport in the country where a) you can't do anything without teammates, and b) get criticized for having good teammates.

The Golden Calf of Bristol threw plenty of perfect passes that game down the field. He put the ball in the right spot all night. Fells down the middle, Royal on the TD (I believe it was Royal), basically all night he was on the money down the field, hell, he even threw a nice back shoulder throw on a tough third down.

He played a great game against the best pass defense in the league. Maybe it was a fluke, maybe it wasn't. Maybe this is his ceiling, maybe it's not. He's got less than a year of experience in the NFL and already has a huge, signature win for that franchise.

The Broncos and the golden one have had the stars align this season. They caught every conceivable break, backed into the playoffs and the Steelers were god awful. They stunk.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is still a bad quarterback that played a good game. The fairy tale ends this weekend.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is no more a fluke than Jake Delhomme was when he made his run.

Go back and look at some of the plays he made in his days and how he was bailed out by our defense and Steve Smith's athleticism/run game.

No.

True that Jake's passing was one of the most bizarre things in the NFL but he was doing that week in and week out. A fluke, as people are using the term here, is something that rarely happens.

Unless you can recall several other games against high ranking defenses where The Golden Calf of Bristol had numbers similar to last night, its a fluke thus far.

So a QB throws a mere 20 yards passing a couple of games ago and now he won 1 playoff game and people are crowning him the best QB right now? I was watching sportscenter today and they are ranking tebows throw in OT as one of the best in the playoffs.

Of course the Delhomme/Smitty TD in double OT never got mentioned. Nice huh?
