It was a 16 million dollar signing bonus and 5 million of the second season's salary fully guaranteed for a total of 21 million guaranteed.

Media gets info from the NFLPA, for example ESPN has the full details of all the teams cap numbers up till around 2015 based off of current contracts.

but they don't have all the clauses and ins and outs of NFL contracts......such as a NFL team isn't going to get into a contract w/ a NFL RB where they can't move on when he is 30, 31 or 32.

Doesn't matter about an end or an out, his Signing bonus has been paid and by CBA rules the team will be hit with the remainder of his signing bonus when he's cut. That's how it works, the poison pill deals like Haynesworth's gave the team an out from his base salary and from future options included in the deal. Not the original signing bonus itself. That's done and over with and will effect the team when Dwill is cut. The number's I posted are what the team has paid so far (16 million upfront or 3.2 each year) and the 5 million this coming season in salary. Those are all widely known components of his deal.

An out doesn't help the team on what's already been paid, that's going to hit no matter what.
