well...he's 32.

lorenzo neal is 38...mack strong was 34 when he blocked for SA in his 27 TD year. he could last a few more years. it seems like this past year was his best. it might not be a priority at this point but i don't know if he's in his prime.

i would like for there to be someone on the roster who can do the job if he gets hurt. i would also like to haqve someone learning the ropes from hoover. that is what i want with someone like quinn.

Yeah, if Hoover would go down, we have nobody on the roster than can step in. And the way Hoover sacrifices his body by how he plays, I don't think we can just assume he will be healthy all season, we need to be prepared.

That's why I think we need to find someone to act as his understudy. The power offense we run relies on the blocking of the FB as much as the OL, and it would be a huge hit if we lost that. So even if there is a chance he could be undrafted, I wouldn't want to take the chance that someone wouldn't take a flier on him in the 7th, or that he would decide to sign with someone else as an UDFA. I think he is clearly the best blocking FB this year, so I want to make sure we get this guy. Heck, sometimes a reach isn't a reach if it's for someone that fits perfectly with your needs and there's a chance he might not be around to get later.

So, I guess the big question now is whether or not the Panthers like this guy as much as I do.
