Braylon Edwards to the Panthers???

Recommended Posts

Screw that poo. Where the hell did i say anything about an elite QB? What I'm saying is that we dont need another WR. Especially when we have a QB that's going to give it right back to the other team any way.

I could see Delhomme starting off the season and Matt Moore taking snaps under center if Delhomme decides to drop the ball again. Which begs the question, if Matt Moore does start midway - wouldn't be easier to surround him with quality recievers to relieve the pressure off of a "rookie" quarterback who is throwing as oppose to handling it off?

Thats where i disagree--

I think we have good quality WR's right now.

Smith- Moose- Jarrett-Robinson and Carter.

I think we will be just fine.

I don't think having Edwards dropping 60% of his passes would help his confidence very much. Honestly, there's so many reasons why not to do this. We don't have the picks to give up. We don't have the cap space. We have more pressing needs. Moose is better in run blocking and we are a run first team. We need to give Jarrett a chance to develop. Any of these will work, pick your favorite.

Smith is a given. Moose comes and goes at times as a possession reciever -I love him for his blocking and team first attitude. But Jarrett, Robinson, and Carter are at best - projects for now. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

no.

we are a run first team. QB should be "handling" it off to them most of the time anyway.

edwards is going to be far too expensive cap-wise and we have MUCH greater needs than WR.

just no.

I completely understand what you are saying. But I really feel we're trapped in this hoopla that we're the best tandem to surface - which is true, I really believe we were the best this past season because we surprised a lot of teams. Next season will be tougher for our backs. I promise you that.

Looked what happened in the playoffs - Arizona caught on late. You stop our running game and surround Steve Smith. And it worked! I really can't see us competing against the elite if we're supposely a run-first team without matching that with a passing game. We can't afford that again. John Fox knows that, the whole organization knows that. I look for us to revamp the receiver position.

revamp the WR position??/

WTF are you talking about, we basically had our two starting WR's BOTH post over 1000yrds while we ran the ball for 2500 Yrds

you're crazy.

Umm... surround Steve Smith AND stop our running game? There are teams that left our WRs in single coverage, loaded the box and still couldn't stop our backs. It's a good balance we have right now. If you bring the safeties down you run the risk of Smitty burning you for a long TD.

again...not something we need to be doing. maybe in madden or fantasy football (though i wouldn't draft him early in FFB no matter where he goes).

i don't want to deal with the frustration of another talented player underachieving. i like jarrett's potential and i want to develop him. smitty has a good few more years in him. we have some young up and comers that will fit well with the panthers RUN FIRST mentality.

edwards....no.
