Refs not calling holds helped Brees and his cause tonight. A QB like Brees requires pressure AND good coverage, he'll make you pay if you don't have both. Also, keeping him off the field is pretty effective too.

That's why my mock draft has us taking Still and then Spence... But the fact remains we need a real #2.

And my point was that a real #2 isnt another high profile #1 corner.

Part of me wants the team to go out and sign big name (realitively) and draft for need but I also wonder about some of our younger guys like Gettis, Hardy, Fua, McClain, Edwards, Pilares, Norwood, Hogan etc. How will these guys preform after a full offseason and a year in the system? I'm glad I'm not Hurney this offseason because this is the year that will either set the team up for years to come or set us back yet again.

This team is trying to move forward. The new players will get their shot but if their is a real #2 corner available on the market for a reasonable price and we are still where we are now; then Hurney should pull the trigger.

Hayward is a second round pick, and someone I personally believe will have the best pro career out of any corner in this up coming draft. With guys like that coming out in the draft (and many have said this draft is full of CBs), there's no need to sign a big name corner on the FA market. Just pick up two corners in the draft.

I'm only interested now in two possible free agents. Reggie Nelson and Mario Williams. And out of those two, of course I want Mario on the team. I strongly believe if Mario hits the open market, Hurney will make a very strong push to get him. With a very strong pass rush in Mario and CJ, along with great young talent in Casey Hayward plus Gamble, Brees wouldn't stand a chance.

Yea if you say one thing about Fox ball, it did take Brees out of the game and we won a lot of games that way.

Also I dont see us signing Finnegan or Grimes because they are going to demand money we just dont have.

A whole lot can happen in 8 months. I would rather not spend big money either but do you really want to let Brees sodomize us twice a season?

the team can add a few good, affordable players, that can really help the team. I see that happening. Keep holding your breath for a big name free agent. Be sure to let us know how that works for ya.

I'd like to take Dre Kirkpatrick and put him at FS, cut Pugh, sign a ST/S, draft late CB depth, and if neither Hogan nor Butler look like they can be the #2 CB go shopping (unless of course another CB on the roster turns out to be a beast).

You don't stop the saints offense with a great secondary. If he is who you are worried about then you should be looking at lineman both offensive and defensive. A pass rush and clock eating run game is what beats the saints.

It's really a combination of all of the above but every QB is the same; Brady P Manning, Rodgers...you get to the QB and they become human. It also helps when the refs don't forget that holding is a penalty. That was one of the worse games of non-calls for offensive holding. And once they got away with it got worse as the game went on.
