Michael Brockers, DT, LSU

Brockers did lift. Put in 19 reps. Not good. I know his arms are long but that's still bad, especially at 322.

I'm loving Poe. 44 reps and is legitimately strong on the field. You'd be surprised to know that he moves extremely well for his size as well. If we trade down, I'd love to get him. Mayock even compared him to Ngata.

Maybe he wants to go at 9 instead of 6,7 or 8

Also, I was curious where this number 19 came from? Not calling anyone a liar or anything, just wondering where it was reported he lifted. Everything I've read says he announced he wasn't doing the 40 or lifting and DL aren't even scheduled to lift or anything until tomorrow.

edit:

I did find this:

http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/michael-brockers?id=2533050

but it even still has his height listed wrong. Plus...DL are supposed to lift tomorrow, not sure what's going on here.

second edit:

found this:

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/09000d5d8273bce3/Linebackers-and-D-line-bench-press-recap

guess they did the bench today. Guess Brockers changed his mind (although I haven't found anything but that profile page that had it).

On another note, Nick Perry did 35 reps (LB/DE tweener) and Demario Davis (mid round LB I'm very interested in) did 32 reps. I would imagine those are very good numbers for LBs.

19 Reps of 225 from a DT? The only thing that I can say is that being a Red Shirt SO he didnt have a ton of time in the weight room, but that is scary to me... and not in a good way. That is not good, but I like guys like Demario Davis, and Ronnell Lewis and they were towards the top. Not in the first, in the 4-7th.

I agree that Brockers' only lifting 19 is a red flag, but tbh you guys are overreacting. It always comes down to the tape. What teams will do now is go back to Brockers' game tape to see if he at least played strong. The lift in and of itself doesn't mean that much. His coaches are probably going to get a few phone calls though, asking about his work ethic, especially with his conditioning.

it's not any kind of a big deal

Gholston turned in like 37 reps in 2008 and he turned out to be a poo pro

if Brockers lifts at his pro day he'll probably end up posting 25-30.

I just wanted everyone to know:

Suh had 34 TT, 6 TFL, 2 PDef, and 1 sack as a RS Sophomore.

Brockers had 47 TT, 9.5 TFL, 2 PDef and 2 sacks as a RS Sophomore.

If we get Brockers, I think it would take a year to develop into a Suh like player, as Suh had two more years of college ball than Brockers to produce All-American stats.

Poe > Brockers. And not just because he had 44 reps compared to 19. Poe is a beast in the middle of the DL that commands double teams simply due to his size and strength.

I've been calling for us to trade down and take Poe, but I honestly wouldn't be mad if we took him #9.

Look at the teams those two guys played on. Suh was getting double and triple teamed his entire time in college.

Brockers never once demanded that kind of attention.

just out of curiosity did Dareus's willingness to participate in the bench and 40 drills at the combine tip you towards him or was it mostly the fact that he was a better prospect overall than Fairley?

where did you read that he played the season at 300? this isn't like boxing where they weigh you twice before every fight

Hi, I'm madhatter, and I'm literally going to take a simple development like Brockers skipping drills at a glorified programming filler on the nfl network and try to turn it into a slight against him based on nothing that I've read but my own retarded intuition as I like to just stir the poo like it's lipton's iced tea, and then when somebody calls me out on my bullpoo I'm going to retort with this...

derp i'm going to make baseless positive statements and then go "you're talking out of your ass" when people shoot it down

pantherclaw's little brother

Hi, I am raging Bull. I am sounding like a bigger fuging idiot than I usually do.

The fact that Brockers publically said he would not lift....then came out and lifted is likely driven by the feedback that came from his decision. I bet you that teams started questioning this decision and he and his agent backtracked. Then, he did not put up a good lifting number.

As for his 300lb weight, I pulled it straight from nfl.com and cbs.com under his bio information.

I never said that any of this will or even should change his draft status. Only that chosing not to either run or lift probably would be viewed as a possible red flag.

As usual, you start pulling smelly poo from you ass and try to pass it off as fact.
