Game 7: Bobcats vs. Hawks

Recommended Posts

It was a great game. Walker is starting to get his legs under him, which comes with the additional playing time. The kid has balls when driving to the hoop and the will to do so just as an opportunity to dump it out to the perimeter, freeing someone else up.

If we could get 1 or 2 more pieces, we are close.

Looks like Silas is considering using Augustin and Kemba together more and/or starting Mullens...I hope he makes the most of it if he does.

Change is coming to the Charlotte Bobcats, following a 102-96 overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Start Byron Mullens at center? Probably, and that could come as soon as Saturday night against the Indiana Pacers.

Play D.J. Augustin and Kemba Walker together? Yes, in stretches, so long as the Bobcats can survive in zone defense.

Use Tyrus Thomas primarily as a small forward? Yes, with Corey Maggette out up to a month with a hamstring strain suffered Wednesday against the New York Knicks.

The Bobcats made up a nine-point deficit in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter after coach Paul Silas shook up his lineup -- Mullens at center, the two point guards together, Thomas at small forward in his first game back from a sprained ankle.

It mucked up the game just enough to force overtime and allowed Boris Diaw to return to his natural position of power forward.

The Bobcats lost in overtime, giving up 3-pointers and offensive rebounds. The Hawks got 23 points and 13 rebounds from forward Josh Smith.

But Silas saw enough that he's ready to try something new. Adding 7-footer Mullens to the lineup is definitely under strong consideration.
