Fixing a Massive Hole in Drywall

No offense meant but I don't see one person in that picture that should attempt to fix a drywall hole of that size.

Out of all the kids in that picture I am sure one of their fathers would be willing to come by and fix it for you guys no? Or are you all from out of the area?

sometimes I forget what a few years can mean in the maturity process...

you go from :jc:

so what do you all think the right price to fix this hole would be? If I decided I did want to pay someone else.

texted my dad, he said $425 if he did it..

My friends won't pay for it. There was already a little hole there and they just made it 10x worse and will refuse to do so.

I'm leaning towards hiring someone to fix it, a professional. How much would this run me?

Sounds like shitty friends

If you try to find a local guy to do it, who isn't in the construction business, you don't know if it will look good and the landlord will know. If you find local guys in the construction business, you'll get a LOT of high estimates because basically, there is no money in this project. Contractors will throw out a huge number just so you'll leave them alone... we did it all the time. They factor in what they are getting paid with the deductions of the trip there, the cost of supplies, and the man-hours of the work+drive. You're going to pay too much to have someone fix it.

It's not that hard, doing the work yourself. It just takes attention and detail work. The putty work and the sanding is really the only difficult part, but I hated drywall. You can do it, bro!

I'd venture to say a jack of all trades type small business will knock down the price quite a bit.. now that it's winter and business is slowing....

leave the painting out of the estimate, and paint it himself.. (whole wall will need painted)
