Fixing a Massive Hole in Drywall

If you want any chance of getting your deposit back I would have your "friend" who did the tossing pay for a professional to come fix it. If you have never done it before, I wouldn't recommend taking on the task. Putting up drywall for the first time is kind of like having sex for the first time. It most likely won't turn out as you planned.

Not exactly an easy fix at this size I don't believe.

and the fix isn't any more complicated, just that the piece of drywall is a little bit bigger..

Is there texture on that wall? If so, can you tell if it was from a gun or skip-troweled on?

It won't be any more difficult at that size, actually if you go to studs it will be a bit easier. If it was smaller and you had to butterfly patch it it would actually be a little more time consuming and difficult.

No texture on the wall, it is smooth. I am in the gray shirt bottom left, just below my boy doing his Cam impression. He is turning Patriots fans into believers one game at a time. The huge kid with the picture is my 6'6 friend who threw another through the wall.

No offense meant but I don't see one person in that picture that should attempt to fix a drywall hole of that size.

Out of all the kids in that picture I am sure one of their fathers would be willing to come by and fix it for you guys no? Or are you all from out of the area?

Oh to be young again and have friends who get drunk and break my stuff and can't afford to pay to have it fixed. ;)

Yeah we all live about 3 hours from the house and most of us are leaving for various schools around the country this week. I'll be going back to the house to fix the hole next week and will be there for the semester.
