Alshon Jeffrey Declares...

 But But But this amateur website said Jeffery was slow! take that you stupid SECer's!

Man if Matthias is smart enough to make an intelligent observation where does that leave JOAT? Is it time we seriously consider banning JOAT from the huddle this time of year so we don't have to listen to his opinionated and apparently always misinformed bullcrap?

Oh, yeah, one more thing. This here is an excerpt from a mock draft by the same author on the same website:

In that scenario the author had Jeffery going 7 to Jacksonville. Remember. Same author. Same website. Oh and, in this next case, it's also the same article. Suppose FOAT conveniently left this part

I made sure I posted the cons as well, because I didn't want to be, well, a JOAT. I did however find it amusing that even in his cons he listed as a 4.6. Which is certainly good speed for someone his size. We've already established the Jerry Rice connection, but we've also seen other receivers who aren't nearly as gifted physically come out and run a 4.6 and still be good receivers, ala Marques Colston.

As for JOAT, someone who, for whatever reason, whether that be racism, anti-SEC bias, or simply not liking players who others like when he doesn't-will venture out on a smear campaign spreading false information, manipulating, and taking things out of context to suit his own agenda.

Now that we've seen what a joke FailureOfAllPosters is, I vote that we ban him from the draft forum at all times, and revoke his moderator status. Is this really the kind of person who should be in charge around here? No, of course not. If TRD went on the smear campaign JOAT has been the past two years, he would be gone within days. Should we really put up with it from FOAP simply because he's a mod? I say no.[/QUOTE]

Dude you seem like a really smart guy when it comes to football matters but act like a big baby when someone disagrees with you. Let it go its just someones a opinion.. And i for one think Alshon will beast in the NFL but i don't want the Panthers drafting him at 9. Tooo many holes on defense dating back to last season to fill. Wouldn't hate drafting an OT that high as well.

Chill its just a message board.

Could alshon really play TE in the NFL?

Is he that good of a blocker?

He could LEARN. Who said it had to be a given? No player is flawless coming into the NFL, they all got things there are gonna have to get better at. He would have to work on his blocking at receiver as well.

Lol at the SC fans coming out, earlier it was all about don't say nothing about his route running and him being slow. Then you go and post a draft article that simply states that he isn't a good route runner and is slow.

- Will get upright off the line vs. press and too often looks to skip into his route. Would like to see him stay lower and more compact.

- Stutters his steps when trying to get out of his breaks in the three-step game and will advertise his routes a bit.

- Gets upright when running the inward breaking routes, making him susceptible to physical corners when trying to change directions.

Don't compare him to Fitz or either of the Johnson's. Not even Colston or Roy Williams.

Fitz has been clocked in the 4.53 area (yes, Fitzgerald ran a 4.6 at the Combine), Calvin ran a 4.35-4.4, Andre Johnson ran a 4.4, Colston ran a low 4.5 and Roy Williams ran a 4.48.

His speed and skill set is more comparable to Boldin then any of the other big receiver's in the NFL. Which is why he should be an early second round pick and the 4th WR taken in the draft after Blackmon, Floyd and Wright.

Trying to compare players, or say he's a young version of such and such is really stupid to me.

I like Alshon because of what I have seen him do against the top talent at corner(Janoris Jenkins,Alfonzo Dennard,Dre Kirkpatrick) and still had success in spite of not being a track star. Alshon has things that you cant teach other receivers, Size, Best hands in draft, leaping ability and work ethic.

We already have a deep threat in Smitty and Hopefully Gettis will become one as well. Jeffery would be that guy who Cam can just lob it up to for an easy TD in the redzone. As a matter of a fact I would say he would instantly be our biggest redzone weapon at receiver if we were to draft him.
