you are playing gm of a team. you handle FA, trades, and the draft. il post the rules in the next week but we are trying to get people to go ahead claim their teams.

Ok. I am sure the Panthers have been selected.

I'll take Tampa Bay if they haven't been chosen. If they have, maybe NE.

Indy-QB or trade out, regardless, that pick will be Luck.

Rams-Kalil

Vikings- need a DB worse than we do

Browns-likely a QB?

Buccs-Need a DB like no other

Jax- this one might be Blackmon...but they could go QB and cut bait with Yo Gabba, or they could do OL to protect him...

Wash-QB needy as well.

Us.

It's a poo ton of wishful thinking, but it could happen. Also, we could pass him up for the same reasons I have other teams passing him up. I hate the offseason.

*No trades involved although I believe it would be in our best interests to trade down. But that's not always feasible. Also, I used two of the same players of my previous mock. Like the previous, this is more of what I would do, not what I expect.

1st Round

Justin Blackmon, WR, OKST

Many don't think Blackmon will fall to us at 8/9 but stranger things have happened. Dez Bryant, an OSU Cowboy like Blackmon, fell late in the first round in 2010 draft. While I think Blackmon will be a better overall receiver it isn't out of the question that he can fall to us.

To be honest, if we didn't draft a WR, I wouldn't be too worried. But if Justin Blackmon is there you can't pass on him. Great route runner, great playmaking ability, and great blocker.

2nd Round

Janoris Jenkins, CB, N.Alabama

Many remember him from Florida and his ability to hold top notch receiver below their respective averages. He did a good job of that last year in the SEC facing Green, Jones, and Jeffery.

He is in all likelihood the best cover corner in this draft and his aggressive in run support. The drawbacks on Jenkins might be his size but his play against top competition has shown otherwise. Also, his off the field issues might be enough to scare teams away but many have suspected his time at N.Alabama has matured him.

4th Round

Matt McCants, OT, UAB

McCants is an athletic OT who is fits the LT mold. I have always thought that Gross should be moved to RT and allow someone else to protect Cam's blind side. Matt McCants has all the tools to play LT, just needs to get a little more built for the overpowering defenders. But when it comes to quicker opponents, McCants athleticism allows him for great range.

5th Round

Danny Trevathan, OLB, Kentucky

With the uncertainty of some of our LBs due to rehabbing injuries an OLB seems like a logical choice. Trevathan is a tackling machine in the toughest conference in the nation. He maybe undersized but he makes up for that with his aggressive mentality and high motor.

6th Round

Jake Bequette, DE, Arkansas

We lacked pressure on the QB this year and both the DEs and DTs were to blame. Bequette brings a high motor and ability to pressure the QB. He only played 9 games this year but had 8 sacks. He is also solid in run defense.

7th Round

Renard Williams, DT, E.Washington

Here is an off the radar pick as not many people have heard of Williams out of Eastern Washington. We are young at the DT position and the injury to Edwards didn't help but there is still room for more bodies. Williams has a knack for getting to the QB, something we desperately need.

This is seriously a dream draft in my book. I have doubts about Blackmon falling to 8 or 9, but I do believe Jenkins will be there when we pick in the second....

Yeah I don't think it's probable but it's definitely possible. Crazy things happen in the draft.

I do know this, if we go offense in the draft (whether it's OT or WR) we need to go defense in the second.

It sucks Kalil won't fall to us.

The only way we land Blackmon is if someone from the Huddle puts weed in his pocket and sets up a drug bust.

I don't really have a problem with the Blackmon pick (assuming he does fall to us).

Teams get into trouble when they reach for need instead of drafting the best players at thier position. If we have an oppotunity to get Blackmon and secure the WR spot for the next 5-10 years, I would say do it (same as OT).

I kind of believe Rivera can build this defense into a middle of the pack defense(if not higher) next year through Free Agency and the return of a healthy Beason.

just watched a tape of 2009... we really screwed up with Julius and Chris harris... every player besides Claiborne and some 3-4 lb look bad and we would be drafting FUTURE OL draft picks and WR that wouldn't make us any better, for a 5th ranked offense... I really have a bad felling about the last draft in which we will probably for a while pick in the top 10... i really don't wanna be indeapilis for the next 10 years and go to the playoffs every year and loose... the only hope is to find a cam newton on defense which I'm afraid only looks like Morris Claiborne...

Just won the defensive MVP of the Cotton Bowl. Had 2 sacks on the night.
