A heap of dead bees was supposed to become food for a newly captured praying mantis. Instead, the pile ended up revealing a previously unrecognized suspect in colony collapse disorder a mysterious condition that for several years has been causing declines in U.S. honeybee populations, which are needed to pollinate many important crops. This new potential culprit is a bizarre and potentially devastating parasitic fly that has been taking over the bodies of honeybees (Apis mellifera) in Northern California.

They might want to talk to a the guy I saw on the Discovery Chanel or Nat Geo a year or two ago that was using a fly like this to control killer bee expansion in the US.

He would have a container full of killer bees and then release a bunch of flies into the same container, the killer bees would freak out as the flies would land on them and lay there eggs inside them. Eventually the larvae would hatch and the bees would die fron the inside out. It was pretty wild so I kept watching. Seems just like what is going on here.

Someone notify the bee population authorites please.

Then makes them climb into the trees and explode? Yep. There are plenty of examples, though. Hell, the "experts" say that around 50% of the human population may be infected with a brain parasite commonly found in cats/rodents, but it has no effect on us.
