Madden 2012 and This Board

just curious.. the more people like to sling the ball around, the more INTs I have a chance to grab.. ;)

and they aren't exactly exploits, a lot of things I hear about are nothing different than what you'll see on Sundays.. Madden usually updates true exploits out of the game if it's really an issue.

maybe exploit isn't the right word (though i do see them). people play it less like football and more like a video game. once it gets to a certain point it's just not fun to play against anymore.

I hear ya.. and exploits just take practice.. which I'm still not sold on what an "exploit" is considered.. if you can't stop a blitz, well don't expect 5 or 6 seconds for routes to develop.... or a rocket catch taking advantage of a receivers height and ability to jump...

I mean, what's next... considering an outside toss an exploit because I can't figure out how to shut them down?

I exploit players who aren't as good as me and seem to fail to exploit those who are better than me.. lol

yeah, I agree.. I find there is a thin line between ridiculous and acceptable..

if I'm dumb enough to expect deep routes to develop and I only have 3 or 4 seconds to get the ball out, that's on me. If I can't get into a 3 step drop within 1 second without getting sacked, that becomes annoying..

i play mostly against the computer on this version. i have trouble with dropping games this year. i play differently, though. against the computer, i play for stats. online, i play to win, no matter how ugly.

never even heard of rocket catching

i always end up just SLINGING the ball pretty much the entire game. running gets boring even if it's working. i've gotten pretty good with my pre-snap reads and hot routes but i haven't messed with o-line shifts.

so does doing one cheesy thing over and over. rocket catching is for those who dont know how to run routes.

M12 is a running game, i play in online franchises and i see some people averaging over 250 rushing yards a game and seen some individual performances as high as 500. My goal is to have 150 rushing and 250 passing. Get a little lead and have people passing, then my user skills come into place cuz i get about 3 or 4 ints every game. I cover the middle of the field with beason cuz i have him in almost all of my lgs and people tend to try the same old middle post routes to their te's or slot wr's. But i also know when i should use a safety or an olb, all depends on the play i pick. You can rocket catch all you want but i will kill that.

yea it sounds like it's time to move on from madden. ive noticed that as spring comes around people get more lazy or brainless and start running the same 3-5 plays over and over. i usually message them and ask if im playing somebody's pet monkey.

Timing your catch is x10 better than "rocket catching". You gotta make sure that the second the ball is within jumping distance you tap that Y button and you will 70% of the time beat out the DB's for the ball. ( this also can work against you on defense if you are nice wit it) Hold down Y if you wanna catch in traffic then quickly hold the RB button so you increase your chances of holding onto it.

Well, after my series of "rage no huddle" games, when I go back to strategy, I am now running into a string of cheesers, lag switchers, and glitchers.

This is what makes the game suck.

Before people discovered what rocket catching was around 10 or 11, I dominated. I argue that the earlier versions on the latest generation consoles were much closer to real football and strategy than these most recent versions. If you are a legit player and use strategy and sound philosophy to win games, you are the exception and odds are, you have a good amount of losses to go with your wins.

It sucks.

This last game I ran into a guy that ran no huddle all game, called audibles every play, and the staple of his offense was streak routes. He could throw them right in the middle whether it was man or zone... even cover 2 sink. I tried every coverage and he threw it where he wanted to regardless of whether the guy was covered or not. And he did this with the f*cking Bengals.

Last night, a guy got up 7-0. I came back, got up 14-7. He sends me a request to friendly quit. I refuse. He then begins to lag switch like a mad man. I send him a message calling him a pussy to which he doesn't reply. He continues to lag switch me and f*ck up my offense and defensive adjustments. He starts throwing up 50 yard lobs in triple coverage and catches them (although I intercepted one, it is impossible to defend these every play). He comes back and wins and then sends me a message back that simply says, "pussy."

This is what has ruined the game and why I take such long breaks from it. I've even contemplated not buying '13. It's so frustrating to play sound, real, football, only to have some nerdy douche with too much time on his hands obliterate it all on 4th and 50 by throwing up a f*cking duck to a receiver against a quadruple coverage and catch it.

This game isn't about your knowledge of the game anymore, it's about how much cheese you've perfected.

Played a somebody earlier who no huddled and kept throwing crossing routes in 5 WR sets. He ended up throwing a lot of INTs and gave me an easy win
