Should we resign Shockey?

they wont resign Shockey. He was only signed to help develop Cam. Barnidge will step in as #2 TE behind Olsen. The offense was heavily dependent on the TE in the begining of the season, as Cam became more comfortable with his other offensive weapons, use of the TE declined somewhat.

What has Gary Barnidge done to prove that he's a #2 TE? He caught a long pass once? Cool story.

Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen are the two TEs we need going into next season. I'd almost rather keep Hartsock than Barnidge, because Hartsock gives us a blocking TE on power run plays.

Btw if he doesn't, there are some good TEs in the draft we could pick up so I won't be too upset.

No question. He doesn't have to be Antonio Gates to be a contributor. I felt like he was more reliable than Olsen this season. I love his passion, though I think I used to hate it.
