2012: $615,000 (+ $25,000 workout bonus)

Shockey did more for Cam Newton on the sidelines than anyone on the team. There was Coach Shula and Shockey. He'll never see a long-term contract, but this team has carried 3 TEs since Walls left and there's no reason he can't get a 1-year deal.

Barnidge is worth it for bis ST play. Anything he gives us at TE is a bonus.

Without a doubt. He said he wants to be on the team next year and excited about what the Panthers can do. Will resign for pretty cheap. I have no doubt they'll resign him.

Shockey is the only player outside of Steve Smith that really gets fired up. He is a huge asset to Cam. I like Barnidge and Olsen but Shockey is clearly the best TE on the squad.

Maybe Barnidge takes Hartsock spot.

Hells yeah. 32 ain't that old if you make an effort to stay in shape. He is still a dependable TE, great hands, fights for extra yards (nice last TD for example), brings fire to the locker room, bench, and field. He can block fairly well. That psycho laugh you hear after a big play sometimes is pretty funny too. Solid player and good for entertainment. He is pretty tough too. See that Twitter pic he posted last month of his bruises? He says he wants to stay, the team and staff like him, so why not? Plus that, I hear he has a hot girlfriend here.

until we KNOW that barnidge can step up and play just as good...shockey needs to stick around. he offers way too much to the team to just let him go.

He may be slow, but it's 6 every time he catches the ball in the redzone. Shockey has a nose for the end zone.

I like him but he's a bit slow, maybe we can keep him as our 3rd TE. And hopefully Barnridge starts at #2.
