A team has asked permission to interview Chud.

He is better off staying here as OC than going to jax to be the head coach. That place is a graveyard. Have to think he would be a good candidate with gabbert there given what he did with cam this year.
Bull, any guy who would stay an OC rather than take the job as a head coach is an idiot and that will never happen, he has a solid defense and good draft pick to work with. Blaine Gabbert showed flashes, he just needs a confidence boost which Chudz could provide. I'd much rather him go to Jax than TB.

It depends on what Chud's aspirations are for his career. Jacksonville in it's current state is not a good job.

If Chud just wants to be a head coach then he may take it if it is offered. But he also may want to wait for an ideal opportunity and there are several jobs that may open up they are way better than Jax.

Blaine Gabbert did not show flashes. He can improve but he was terrible this year.

quite a bit of this will come down to money and if we are willing to pay to keep him.

Blaine Gabbert did not show flashes. He can improve but he was terrible this year. Clausen-esque bad.

He was significantly better than Clausen in every phase and had at least one game where he stood in the pocket and made throws even when pressured. He wasn't afraid to go deep like Clausen, and he was plagued by FAR worse receivers. He showed some glimpses every game really... a throw here or there, not enough to win them many games but enough to make them think maybe he could turn into something decent.

But he wasn't good at all.

Chud is going to leave it is just a matter of now or later. It will be interesting to see what he will do. He likely knows that jobs are going to be available now and down the road. He could wait for thee best situation or decide that he doesn't want to miss an opportunity and needs to jump while the opportunity exists. I don't know that Tampa or Jacksonville are ideal spots given the difficulty filling the stands. On the other hand Jacksonville has a new owner who is likely willing to spend for what he wants. Tampa on the other hand has always been cheap.

I can't imagine for the life of me why Chud would go to Jax... why sabotage your future?

it's funny people say this, because they have one of the better defenses in the league, but an awful offense... and we saw last year how quickly an offense can turn around.

We also saw how fast a decent defense can become pooty.

And Gabbert sucks. Quit defending him. :p
