Some Bear fans might say Angelo's ouster is a lot more than a day late.

Me? He certainly kept them in contention more often than not, but teams under him never could quite seal the deal. Guess it's one of those "we need someone who can take us to the next level" things.

Curious who you would consider a better GM:

Marty Hurney or Bill Polian?

Polian has certainly had several years when he looked like a very good GM.

It is really suprising the year the Colts have had. I am sure there are a lot of factors that led to it. But he does not look like a good GM in 2011.

How long has Lovie been there? He is certanly a survivor.

He took the Bears head coaching job the same year they hired Rivera for the DC spot, so yeah it's been a while.

I remember in his first pressed he said he was hired "to beat the Green Bay Packers". That part of the job's gotten tougher of late.

This is a move that should have been made years ago. Aside from Cutler and Forte, the offensive side of the ball is a mess, and has been almost the entire time that Angelo has been in charge. While they could have gotten away with this years ago, offenses have become so much more important in recent years, and not being able to field a consistent one has consistently put the nail in their coffin.
