Rank the D-Line and LB positions

Recommended Posts

I am very curious how the Huddlers would rank the current talent (or lack of) at DT, DE, and LB.

Lets assume we bring in no new players next year, how would you think the depth chart would look with the return of the 18 players on IR. You are going to have to guestimate how they will recover from the injury and how they improve over the offseason.

DE: (3)Antwan Applewhite, (2)Greg Hardy, (1)Charles Johnson, (4)Thomas Keiser, (5)Eric Norwood (is he on the team?)

DT: (2)Ron Edwards, (6)Sione Fua, (4)Frank Kearse, (5)Terrell McClain, (1)Andre Neblett, (7)Ogemdi Nwagbuo, (8)Demario Pressley, (3)Jason Shirley

LB: (2)James Anderson, (1)Jon Beason, (3)Dan Conner, (4)Thomas Davis, (6)Omar Gaither, (9)Jason Phillips, (5)Jordan Senn, (7)Jason Williams, (8)Thomas Williams, (10)Kion Wilson

Have fun! I am interested to see how this plays out. I included my rankings, feel free to shred them. :D

Basically we need talent at all three positions. Depth at DE, a starter at DT (I think we have enough reasonable DTs for a good rotation) and a WLB at LB.

You'd rank Connor higher than Davis? Maybe if Davis' achilles is still torn Connor is better, but a healthy Davis >>>>>>> Connor. That's my only disagreement. Like Miaoww said, Davis is #2 if healthy.

I am trying to find a way to imagine Davis coming back and playing near the same level, but lets be honest. He hasn't played serious football since October 31st of 2010.

Based on what? He has barely seen the field due to his injuries and will not be anywhere near the athlete he was before.

Conor is the best run focused LB on the roster, and one of the worst coverage ;)

I would say that Johnson and Hardy are legit starters at DE, with a host of mediocre back ups. At DT we don't have a #1-4, just a group of guys who all struggled.
