"steve smith needs maturity pills"

Dear Panther Fan, your athletic, fast, amazing, loudmouth, thug of a wide receiver does need an attitude adjustment. This guy turns on his own team mates for crying out loud. No matter how good this guy is, he would have no place on Sean Payton's team. I starting reading this forum during the game and was sick of reading how dirty our team is. Just because Harper hit him late in the end zone last meeting you think our team is dirty. He did this because your loudmouth wr chopped somebody earlier in the game. I can honestly say there is not a classier team in the nfl. Laugh at that statement all you want, but there is not one of you Panther fans would love to have our players, coach and our brilliant minds in the front office. Just admit it. I read things like, "Saints suck" or " they will lose in the first round" or " their defense sucks". Well, 13-3 is pretty damn good and I would take that every year. You guys certainly would. This Saints team is here to stay ladies, so you better get used to it. What kind of scumbag would talk shiz to a head coach. The Falcons made fools of themselves last week on mnf whining about how we ran up the score. You should be thanking us or the Panthers would be the team linked to Brees history. Well, you guys go out and make fools of yourselves too. Talking shiz, acting like you scored a td when you just completed a 7 yd pass for 1st down. Hilarious!! Well crybabies, enjoy the offseason while we win our second Lombardi. And to all of you who think we won't, just watch. We have geniuses playing and coaching the Saints so just sit back and enjoy the Lombardi is in the nfl south.

You seem pretty confident that your team is going to win the Lombardi.

So how about a deal?

If the Saints when the Superbowl, I will buy you a Saints jersey of your choice. If they don't, you buy me a Newton jersey.

If your team is as good as you think they are, this should be no problem for you.

The game was moot from the start, but especially during the second half.

You didn't want to see some all out pressure to slap those record mongers?

Has NOTHING to do with personnel IMO, I think Rivera talks a big game but is soft as they come.

We don't have the personnel to run an aggressive scheme. Our blitzes were ineffective and our coverage terrible. We could not play man on all of the Saints receivers so we are left with a zone plain and simple. We did try blitzing but it was easily picked up and Brees had all day to throw. He will wear out any defense that way.

It has everything to do with personnel. If you can't agree on that they there is no need having a discussion. Everyone who knows anything about football knows that much.

Steve need fumbling pills. I now cringe seeing him run with the ball now

What are you talking about, he has taken many screens this year and fumbled maybe one.

The saints are a bit of a dirty team, but the histoty between Smitty and several of their players doesn't help. It looked to me like Porter & Harper were instigating a lot of it.

For the record I see the Saints losing in the playoffs on the road @ SF or GB. They are great in their dome and better than average in a real stadium.

The fans that support Sissy Boys rant at an opposing teams coach, are the worst kind of fans.

His actions were those of a spoiled little boy and those defending him are no better. I am not a Saints fan and could give a rats butt about the Panthers, but as a father and a Scout master, spending my spare time trying to be a positive influence on tomorrow’s leaders, I detest actions like those of Mr. Smith..If you are an adult, you would too.

It is a dang shame that adult men get so caught up in a GAME that they would defend Smith’s immature behavior.

Mr. Smith does not play with "passion". He plays like a professional, and acts like a spoiled little girl

I am a father, scoutmaster for almost 20 years and have been a coach of several sports at several levels. Frankly I don't agree with you at all. First off, calling Smith a sissy boy doesn't exactly show very much maturity on your part or an adult attitude. I would hope you don't refer to your scouts who act immature as they invariably will in that manner. I also doubt you heard exactly what was said or the context so to have an opinion is rather presumptuous. Secondly scouting and sports are very different and not that comparable in regards to what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior. No doubt Smitty can be over the top and immature at times. But to call him a spoiled little girl and castigating him as you have says more about your issues than it does about setting a good scouting example. You might want to reflect on the scout law particularly the points about kind and courteous before making more comments.

Your argument falls flat due to your forgetting that this "game" he plays is how he provides for his family. Cheap shots, unnecessary actions, or even mistakes can endanger that ability.

Speaking of sissies and little girls. The Saints never fail to impress in that aspect. With Brees always being a pussy and looking for penalties and a defense that puts cheap shots on players. They are a team on the way out for sure.
don't forget the jimmy graham "fall" earlier in the season.

Usually a big fan or King, but the past two seasons my opinion of him has really taken a nose dive.

I think his Mr.Nice Guy persona and, for the record, I know for a fact he is an outstanding "celebrity" to meet and will always be polite, talk to fans, great tipper, etc...skews the fans opinion of him. He doesn't know as much as the media/public thinks he does but makes up for it by being a great writer and all around nice guy.

I'll say it again. The aint's are the luckiest team in the league. To get an MVP out of a discarded shrimp with a bum shoulder and then to draft the two biggest surprises out of the last 10 drafts in Graham and Colston.

was talking to the gf's brother in law yesterday, who isn't a panther fan, and told them that Brees & the Saints are a dangerous team when they play at home (especially in the Playoffs). However, as the wooping they took from the below .500 Seahawks in the playoffs last year showed, if you get them out of their comfort zone and mix in a little of the elements, they aren't as scary as everyone makes them out to be. And let's be honest here, Brees is the MVP of the league and they are only as good as he is on gameday.

Hell, we had them beat the first time we played them TY.

the rape dome is favorable for their type of game. They have some horses out there and they focus on letting their QB do what he does best. The Panthers are probably the worst team to try to throttle them because we have to play so conservatively on defense. Dome teams look pretty and I'm sure the frenchie-cajunz that live in that unnaturally dry retention pond that is New Orleans are real happy but I'm not impressed.

You are right. A team that gets under their skin and gets them off their schedule can make them look really bad. I just hope to see that happen sooner than later.
