Amazing how plans can go to crap

Sorry for your troubles. Is there a Y there?

What kind of work do you do? How did you get sent to HI??

Even better question...how can I get there?

Does the Y still take boarders? Just wondering as I have belonged to 3 in the past and I can't recall them ever doing that sort of thing. Just curious...

I know the feeling: couldn't find a job near where I live (where I've lived for most of my life) so I've had to uproot on my own and take a job 4 hours away (which is a big distance in the UK!).

I start a week on Monday - the job doesn't pay very well and the room in a shared house is expensive. It's also not available till February 7th so I have to find somewhere to live for that month in between.

Life sucks at times.

Well, look at it this way Squirrel... once you get it worked out, you're living in Hawaii...

I know it sucks right now, but you'll find somewhere.

Very true and I know it will get better I just hate uncertainty. One thing I am looking for though on thursday thye fly the new hires around Oahu on this little beauty.

Also the woman walking in shorts and dresses is a plus.

You would know.

But they also have large population of women.

But an even larger population of men with all the military there.

Housing is definitely in short supply on Oahu. I shared an apartment, and later on a house with various people once I got out of the barracks. Its nearly impossible to get a place by yourself unless you have a lot of money. Ended up sharing a house in Kailua with three other people and driving to Pearl Harbor every weekday. Longest commute I have ever had, but well worth it to be away from the Honolulu crowds.

Well found a place in Aiea it is right above Pearl Harbor and the Stadium. Great view of them both and I can see the Arizona Memorial from the back deck. Will be riding my bike to work so that will be some good exercise til i get my car here.
