I'm liking Devon Still, DT, Penn State more and more every day

I'm torn between Coples and Still. I'd want either before Worthy or Cox though.

Our pick seems like a bit of a reach for Still, whereas our pick is right about good value for Coples by most people's rankings. But Still's position (true DT) is more an area of need for us...

I hate to break it to you guys, but Ron Edwards was a mediocre 32-year-old NFLer before this season. He'll be a mediocre 33-year-old coming off an injury that forced him to miss the entire season this year next season. If you're really counting on Ron Edwards, you're still in that same old Damione Lewis/Tank Tyler mentality that continues to not work.

Thank god some people are on a similar wavelength here.

Even when Edwards was given a shot to fill in and start in Buffalo of all places, he couldn't show enough to be a legit starter and went back to being a backup in 03. Why so many people put confidence in him re-solidifying our defensive line baffles me.

In my one mock, Still was my choice and still is. You hit the nail on the head with him being not only a leader, but coach like and he was responsible for docking the opposition for over 110 yards this season. His strength is fantastic and has the legit bulk and size to be effective with good footwork, balance, and quickness (almost unreal for a guy his size). I'm not even saying don't go after a FA DT, let's do that too if we can find some upgrades this offseason. Also, with how deep this CB position is, you're getting late first round caliber guys with Minnifield,

Hayward, & Hosley in the 2nd.

Regardless, defense defense defense

I'm trusting our defensive minded coach and I think we'll build well this offseason

You're talking about 2003 with Buffalo, but what about all his years with Kansas City since then where he was a very solid player. No, he wasn't a superstar, but he was quite solid. You can't just ignore that part of his career because it's inconvenient.

And if I remember correctly, one of the big problems he had at Buffalo was injuries, so I don't believe it was as simple as him just not being good enough.
