yes, i'm a bit optimistic.

its gonna be huge. we are going to have to do that type of production to keep up with the high power offenses we are facing next year.

I'm pretty sure by the 2nd half of the last season teams were focusing intently on stopping them... and if the Tampa game is any evidence that a serious run stopping team can be blown up by these two and our o-line... I'm VERY anxious to see what they do this season!

To bad Jake is still our QB! No post season success present.

Yep. The danger for teams loading the box against us is that both DeAngelo and Stewart are very explosive and able to pop through a slight crease. And once they break through the line, both are also strong and quick enough to either elude or run over LB's and DB's. That often results in long runs for us, since both are also fast enough to run away from people.

To be honest, I think it will all come down to Jarrett. If we have a legitimate 3WR core to fear. The running game will be huge this season. Then throw in the TE's. Man,this upcoming season could be the best offensive season ever for the Panthers. So if the Oline can stay healthy, we could be a team to fear this year. And a good offense keeps the defense rested, ya know for the playoffs when you really need your defense.

I guess you can see I try and count the whole team not just part of it. :)

If those numbers hold up, keeping up won't be a problem. The other teams aren't going to have enough time to run a high powered offense. Their offenses will be spending 3/4 of the game on the sidelines.

wouldn't that be nice? i don't think that it would keep them off the field that much. running the ball 550 times would still be less than the ravens (592) and the falcons (560) last year. ravens time of possession per game last year was 33.12, the falcons had the ball for 31.10/game. the other offenses would still be on the field a lot.

not sure if you realize this or not but the last 9 games of the season the combined stats for williams/stewart were

265/1585/22 (is that right that once every 12 carries one of them scored?)

per game that's

29/176/2.44

over the course of 16 games that would have been

464/2816/39

the record for a team's rushing TDs in a season is 36.

if we picked up a couple more carries per game

32/194/2.66 per game

512/3104/43

sorry...i just wet myself.

nice to dream.

I'm interested to see who gets the most carries.

Why? We already know who its going to be.(unless injuries happen)

Fox is stubborn and D will will start and get the most carries. Not that I have a problem with that.

God do you remember the days of D foster? Thank God those dark days are over.

I believe if we see a game that has Williams struggling and Stewart soaring, Stewart will get more carries. To say that Fox is so stubborn that all he cares about is keeping whoever he started in the game is foolish. As we saw last year, it goes to whoever is producing, otherwise he would have been too stubborn to spend a 1st rounder on another RB.
