We are set at DT for next season.

If so, I'd wager it won't be through the draft, and any FA sign would most likely be a name that won't blow anyone away. Only big name would probably have to involve a trade.

Personally I think we stand with what we have if Edwards is fully ready to go....

I am not saying he's not going to be good but he's not exactly young in football terms. 11 years in the league for a D lineman is a long time. I'm just not putting my faith in him. I expect us to bring in some low level vets and see how it plays out.

qb. Rb. Te. C. Mlb. Wlb.

I think C is lumped into OL....and the overall OL isn't set.

but there is no way in the world we are set at WLB. LB overall is a fairly decent concern right now.

Thomas Davis = done. Even if he attempts a comeback you have to consider him finished when planning. He has suited up for 9 games of the past 3 seasons (48 games). 9 out of 48! No matter how much you want him to succeed his body has flat out said it is over.

We need a playmaker at LB. Now we have to worry about Beason's ability to comeback from a major injury. Beason could have issues the rest of his career.

DeMeco Ryans tore his achilles last year, and has played great since he came back, in an offseason where he couldn't be with his team's trainers while he healed.

I'm honestly not that worried about Beason being healthy once the season starts.

I feel LBer was a bigger issue this year than CB.. if Beason is our best coverage guy, we are in trouble.. Has nothing to do with Beason, he simply can't cover the entire field by himself. Anderson isn't the greatest at coverage, he concerns me, but if he's the worst guy with a Davis-like LBer, he isn't so much a liability..

Davis was going to be a HUGE asset to this team.. I don't feel good about his future, I really hate we had a hard hitting coverage LBer that may never be what he was.

Don't be surprise [sic] if Fua is cut next season.

That would surprise the hell out of me.

It is very, very rare for NFL teams to cut 3rd round draft choices after only one year. Especially a one year where that 3rd round draft choice did not have the benefit of OTA's or a playbook in the offseason.

Not saying it never happens, but it doesn't happen much. I think you'll be the one who is surprised.

After McClain and Fua went down and Shirley and Kearse started for us, our run D improved from 30th to 21st in just 4 games allowing an average of 95 rushing yards per game. Also, Shirley has a sack in every game he started. Don't be surprise if Fua is cut next season. Shirley and Edwards should be our starting DTs next seaso

n.

I am not convinced our run defense problems have been fixed the last few games. Yards per game by itself, is not a good indicator. During the recent win streak, we have tended to get out to big leagues and teams have been forced to abandon the run, and try to beat us through the air. Our average ypc has only improved slightly, and that improvement is mainly due to our two games against Tampa. The Texans gashed us on the ground.

Its going to take a few more games to determine if we have really improved that much.
