Braylon Edwards

Well, he'd be an upgrade over Naanee, but so would just about any WR we could sign that has played professional football at some point. Not terribly interested. And unless I just skimmed over it, to answer the OP he did go on waivers and has cleared them. NO ONE put in a claim on him.

We just don't need a wide reciever...AT ALL!!! LaFell had over 500 yards and 3 touchdowns this year. Legedu is starting to come into his own with a 500 yard season. Gettis is returning and we also have two really young guys in Pilares and Armanti. We need to quit giving up on players so early that have shown promise (i.e. LaFell and Gettis). Why not worry about other positions like the offensive line, defensive line, linebacking corp, and secondary...

With this coaching staff if AE had shown that he was even close to a starting quality receiver in this league we'd have seen him on the field more. There is still a slim chance that they will actually try to work with him on it and he will end up decent where FoxCo didn't want to but that's an unknown quantity that can't be counted on.

Pilares is young and may yet be good but he is not a top-of-the-list receiver and it takes a few years for most receivers to adjust to the NFL game who aren't athletic freaks. This is an unknown quantity that cannot be counted on.

David Gettis is coming off an injury and should be back and producing but, as we've seen with TD, sometimes those injuries are a problem after the player is back too. This is less of an unknown than the others but still cannot be ignored.

This leaves us with Smitty, LaFell, and Legatron. Legs has done better late in the year but I'd like to see someone in his spot because I really just don't feel like he's that good at all.. Going into the season next year with two receivers that I know can play well in this system would make me nervous.

Do I consider adding a WR a priority? Not really - there are places on this team that we need help more seriously. But I do think that if one is available who is a known quantity at the position then we should entertain the idea of adding them.
