OT: NFL Sunday Ticket Question

Recommended Posts

Installation is free, as long as they can run the cables outside of your home. You need/want the cables run through the attic or crawl and fished in the walls? You need your dish pole mounted in the yard? Theres a fee for both.. If you sign up near but before football season, that is when they offer the free SunTicket. Like it has been said, if you are an existing customer you can talk them down to 6 payments of $33, instead of 6 at $55...

I have been a DTV customer for 7 years and my family has been since 1999. I also used to install DTV. Their customer service is great, Ive only had 1 dickish person since I joined, and that was me trying to get her to remove a UFC PPV charge because it only stayed on the DVR for 24hrs. She wouldnt do it, but the next person I talked to a week later did...

I pay about $160/month for DTV. I get HBO & Stars and have 4 DVRs and 4 rec'v'rs active, then throw the Ticket on top of that... But I am always getting 3 months of Showtime or something free, just call and ask...

Yes, tiger, that is HD.. Used to be an additional $100 to get the HD/RedZone upgrade, now it is just 1 charge and its included. Same price, just no option not to get HD+...

I went with the PS3 ripoff. My building doesn't allow dishes. So living in Brooklyn, the only way to watch them in the comfort of my own home was to go that route. And rip or not, it's worth it. Order food, grab a cold one, kick back on my couch and watch games on my HD set. Good stuff.

I did that with the MLB route; and it was so laggy... isn't there like huge lag and the video of the game you're watching real grainy in quality?

Lag has been an issue in some of the games, yes. But the quality is HD. They just need to fix the transmission for next season and they'll be good to go. You can also pause, rwd, and fwd which is pretty neat. You have to use the PS3 controller, but it takes a second to figure out.

I've had the Ticket for the past 3 years, but I'm cancelling it after this season. I'm going to buy a Slingbox and hook it hook it up to my Parents' TV so I can watch it on my computer.

If you have immediate family or close friends who live in the Panthers viewing area, it might pay to look into getting a Slingbox. It costs about $200 from Best Buy. It's perfectly legal.
