Rivers is an active Catholic and does a great deal of work in speaking with youth about spirituality. He states that, "I feel fortunate that I have the physical and mental tools to play the game... So...why he he not getting the media coverage? Is it maybe he is not an attention hound? That's the only difference I see in him and The Golden Calf of Bristol....except he is a much better QB.

this and there's no need to argue that rivers is a good qb. The Golden Calf of Bristol is so fuging terrible that analysts (skip bayless) try to take an outside approach to the debate in an attempt to look smarter and garner more attention.

Protestants are a lot more outspoken when it comes to religion, don't see a lot of Catholics speak about their faith. Add The Golden Calf of Bristol's college success, his popularity throughout the Bible Belt and it's easy to see why Tebowmania exists....as long as we're not talking about actual skill.

Still don't see how The Golden Calf of Bristol's an attention hound.

And, as I've said before, a lot of it comes from the subconscious american zeitgeist that encourages cheering for the underdog. No one thinks The Golden Calf of Bristol can play in the NFL, not to mention he has an unconventional (to say the least) style. So this makes a lot of people cheer for him.

But he's not an attention hound, from what I've seen.
