Charlotte's a unique town for better or worse compared to other southern cities. It grew based off of trade routes and commerce rather than from our country's early primarily manufacturing driven towns.

Most towns that grew more rapidly post-industrial were the one's that spread out and developed a broader sense of the suburb rather than growing more dense. Makes sense because most of these cities are in the south.

It's a highly suburban city now.

Uptown/Downtown Charlotte used to be a lot more dense than it is today. Hundreds of city blocks were destroyed in the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

Charlotte used to have a lot of Charlestonian architecture actually, but now it is all gone. Shame.

Just noticed when I flew in the horizen didnt offer alot. Now Vegas is a different story. Next stop from me is Honolulu.
