If This Doesn't Make You Want to Cry Tears of Joy, You Have No Heart

They volunteer to protect and defend our country while being paid peanuts. Thats pretty damn noble.

This guy saw big money in Iraq and found it more important than being with his family. Why sugar coat it?

You right. Taking pictures of girls in bikinis is way more noble than helping rebuild Iraq.

I feel bad for the girl but what Zod says is true. His choice to be over there and subject his little girl to these issues.

I have a friend that is a lifelong marine sniper, and he keeps going back to the ME because he loves shooting people from long range, and he's very good at it. Long after his obligations were up he keeps going because he likes the comraderie and the situation - he's not patriotic, he's selfish. And he's lost 2 wives and his kids over it; people that love him and want him around. He's a senior, senior Sgt. now and can't even go out in the field on sniper assignments anymore but he keeps going.

I've gotten to know many really disabled returning vets at our tailgates, working with the Wounded Warriors Project, Operation Welcome Home, Purpose Driven Vets, etc. and guys like this are not in their league.

But it's still a really cool video.

For anyone who was at the Titans game this year, when they did kind of the same thing before the game. I knew it was going to happen, and still cried like a little girl. These stories always hit me hard, and while I'm ecstatic for the little girl, it sucks that there are thousands of other kids just like her.

I booed him. His job is to royally f-over the real troops.

I can relate to that. Home life is too stressful compared to being in a combat zone for months and years.

I know you non-veterans will think that's the most stupid statement you've ever seen, but ask veterans who have seen their families destroyed.

If I had kids, joining/working for the army would not be something I'd do.

That's a decision I can understand, but on the flipside it wouldn't be fair to ask the guys who do take dangerous jobs (military, police, firefighter, etc) to pledge to stay unattached.

Women who marry these guys know what they're getting into. Unfair to the kids? Don't know that you can make that argument since no one gets to pick their daddy and Lord knows there are some real douchebags out there with jobs that aren't the least bit dangerous.

For the girl it's nice she got her dad back for Christmas...but Zod is 110% right. This dude gets paid 6 figures to do some random ass rebuild project off some multi-million dollar defense contract. He may feel it was his patriotic duty to go there for two years straight but he is choosing this.

I flew 4 soldiers home last year, two were in caskets. We stopped in Germany prior to returning stateside. There we picked up one of the KIA soldier's wife, the longest flight of my life.

That is tragic.

I've spent many holidays deployed over seas - thought I was numb to it till this year.

My wife and I are in the beginning of a future where our children will / will not be home for Christmas. We have 2 daughters married to servicemen and our son will be enlisting this coming summer.

One of my son-in-laws is currently stationed in Korea and was not able to come home home for Christmas. My daughter is very strong, but underneath it all, I could see the pain she felt celebrating Christmas without him here. I know it was bad for him as well - they have a 3 month old child and he was unable to be here for his 1st Christmas.

2nd daughters husband has orders to Korea in March - so she will endure the same thing next year.

Its an all volunteer force - these young men and women sacrifice alot to protect our freedoms. Their families sacrifice a great deal as well.

Seeing my children go through this has really opened my eyes to the sacrifices my family made while I was serving. I always knew of the sacrifice, but I see it from a different perspective now.
