Should dome QBs have an asterisk by their season stats?

I don't mean to take away from Drew's accomplishment and I fully congratulate him on it but I'm just not impressed since today's offenses are all pass heavy. Marino had the record with 362 completions on 564 attempts while Brees has 440 completions of 622 attempts. You're bound to break records when you basically pass every play.

Exactly, If teams wanted to break certain records like passing or rushing etc they could do it if they wanted too.

i think once brady breaks the record again sunday his name should be above brees and brees gets an asterisk

I don't know why some Panthers fans are so obsessed with belittling the accomplishments of other players in the league. To me there is no conflict with acknowledging that Dru Brees, Aaron Rodgers, etc have had great years and being a Panthers fan.

In fact pointing out the quality of the NFL only helps explain why the Panthers lose so many games. Dru Brees had no issue throwing for 359yds and 2 touchdowns at bank of america stadium.

Domes are built for the fans comfort and teams that don't have them or retractable roof stadiums are because they didn't want to pay for them.

Brees is playing at a high enough level that I dont think weather would make a noticeable difference.

how good would Brees, and also any QB in general do without the 80 rules they instituted to help both WRs and QBs produce since Marino's time? There was no tuck rule, there were no gratuitous roughing the passer penalties, the "5 yard cushion" wasn't instituted yet and so on. Back then the QB was still basically regarded as a back that could throw the ball, and thus was fair game. The NFL pretty much has created these rules to make the game more appealing and to increase star power.

Marino would have like 7500 yards a year if he was in his prime today
