Resign Legatron

He would be a really good 4th string WR. Not many 4th stringers out there that are better.

agreed... fans have no clue..

Nah, with Gettis coming back I don't see the need to keep him. Rather see Pilares or even Armanti get some more snaps.

1 injury away from you eating those words.. and when Pilares and AE never live up to the solid game play of Naanee.....

Ew no thanks to Naanee. Even if we don't draft or sign a WR I hope we cut him. I'd even rather keep Armanti, at least Armanti hasn't proven yet in real games that he drops almost everything thrown at him. (I'm no Armanti fan boy either, 2nd worst trade in team history).

so let me get this straight, you'd rather hand over a roster spot to 2 guys who haven't really made the field at all this year?

"ewww, noo.. not Naanee, he's gross."

Naanee is better than I ever gave him credit for at the beginning of the year (which isn't saying much honestly...b/c I gave him virtually credit) but I don't see him being here next year unless we completely whiff in free agency again this year.

I could be wrong - lord knows I'm not an NFL coach or GM - but that's my feeling.

Legs has really picked it up in the 2nd half of the season. He could make a good 4th behind Smitty, LaFell and Gettis.

agreed... there is absolutely no reason to bring in a big time receiver, hogging cap room that is needed elsewhere.. we have size, speed and ability..

only way we upgrade receiver is with late draft picks earning their way to the top..

we have too much talent there to waste more roster spots and money on one position that is not our biggest need, or even close to a need..

Somewhat agree. I would cringe if we were in a playoff hunt, and SS went down for 6 weeks though.

Can you imagine trotting, Pilares, Lafell, and Gettis/Naanee out there on Sunday against the Saints?

Without the extra attention that Smitty attracts, I'm not sure how good the other 3 would be. I know this can be said for most every team in the NFL when talking about their no. 1 going down. but for us it would be a back breaker.

and thats why i feel like another WR should be brought in. we dont have to go after a VJax or Bowe, but RM, Royal, or Garcon would be nice compliements on this team. yeah Gettis is still here but i wouldnt put all my eggs in that basket, and RR did bring LA in before Gettis got hurt.

In the past, I might agree with you. However, I think we would be fine with Gettis, Lafell and Naanee as our receivers. Unlike in previous years, we have 2 upper level tight ends and we are throwing to the running backs out of the backfield more than ever.

We certainly are a better team with Smith, but it wouldn't crush our offense without him like it used to.

I would much rather go after Robert Mechem and take him from the saints.

It could happen because the Saints have Drew Brees and Marques Colston to resign this offseason as both are free agents in 2012. That will be a lot of money to just those players, plus they have other players to resign. Therefore, I doubt they'll have enough money to resign Meachem, especially since he plays at a position that they're strong at with Colston, Henderson and Moore to go along witth Jimmy Graham.

aside form getting everyone (esp. including gettis) and shoring up RT, i really don't want to mess with what they've got on offense. it was downright incredible to watch this year and they really didn't get it until late in the season.

they've essentially got the makings of a championship team on that side of the ball as-is once you give them a full offseason.

i think naanee as a 4th WR (which he will probably be with gettis back) isn't a bad thing.

my point exactly. he walks more than likely.

well.. we would have Gettis and LaFell out there with Shockey and Olsen (and Barnidge, who I think was kept for a good reason).. With Naanee as a 3rd and Pilares as a 4th..

that's depth.. If we are in the playoffs, we need a run game on top of whoever our receivers are..

although if Colston is allowed to walk, he's one guy I would love to have on this team...
