I'm trying to temper my expectations...

for next season. Even even if we didn't draft anyone, with a healthy Beason, this team makes the playoffs. With a good draft, we could go deep in the playoffs.

But my brain tells me that next year we go 9-7 and miss the playoffs and that we have to give the young players time to develop, sophomore slump etc.....

So I need you Debbie downers to tell me how bad we are going to suck. I am having difficulty imagining us losing many next season. I can't get my hopes up. I've been hurt before..I'm a Panthers fan.

I was thinking 9-7 this year...barring a couple bad breaks I'm in the ball park...homeristic optimism strikes again.....I'll withhold a record prediction here, but I expect a playoff birth next year...no homer...

Depends on a lot of things, but the injury bug is probably key. If we can get our vets back on D, do decent in the draft and at least have a top 15 defense, with the offense we now have, we can reasonably go 10-6 and at least get a wildcard spot.

If things go our way, we could go 12-4... if injuries hurt us again, we could do as bad as 7-9...

With our offense, we just need a decent defense and hold teams under 20 points and we'll win a lot of games.

Full off-season and the coaches getting the first year under their belts makes a lot of difference, IMHO...wish they had the full prep time this past year....might have made a difference with the injuries.
