Why Is Armanti Edwards Still Returning Punts?

So your point is that Smith was worth his weight in gold to this team as a return man and forced his way into the starting lineup on offence because he stuck around long enough/showed enough flashes of potential that they gave him a chance.

How, exactly, is that comparable to Edwards? He's flashed nothing.

my point is, Steve did amazing things before he became a starter and it took him 2 YEARS even AFTER all the amazing things he did.

Armanti has yet to finish his 2nd year and you already want to cut him?

I think our front office will manage this the right way and im going to leave it up to them, if Armanti gets better like he did this off season he will be playing on a NFL team next year.

The player decides what position he wants to be drafted as, not the team who drafts him. Armanti Edwards declared and entered the draft as a WR. One of the roles of a WR is punt returning. While I'm not a big Hurney fan, it certainly wasn't on him to make Edwards a WR, Armanti made that decision

I'm glad none of you run an NFL team. None of you Madden arm chair general mangers know what it takes to be an NFL player.

Personally I have no problem keeping Edwards. He may not be averaging big numbers but he isnt muffing punts or fumbling the ball either. And when they do actaully block for him he has had some nice returns.

Edwards has a better chance of being on this team next year than Clausen. Now how many could have predicted that

Whose talking about Madden?

Thats like saying,

Hey im going to go buy a baby chicken that can lay eggs and a year later saying welp he isn't laying eggs yet so im going to go ahead and get rid of it rather then letting it mature.

ill go a step farther, just because hes not starting doesn't mean hes not worthy of playing as a backup and waiting for his chance.

i dont get it...A chicken has bigger legs

Edwards is a typical Panthers either a) Hurney screw-up or b) total scouting miss.

In their search for Devin Hester, or the next Steve Smith, they tried to make a small college QB be a big league WR/KR.

It does not happen.

He has shown zero, I mean zero instincts on punt returns, even when there is space around him, he runs to the pack, not away from the pack.

This isn't personal, it's business.

Armanti simply isn't a big league caliber QB or WR or KR. Time to go.

he's a garbage player and if we murdered every piece of poo who went to that joke of a "university" the world would be a better place

You know, you can say a lot of things in today's world of opinion and free speech but you can't advocate murder of anyone, even as a joke. I don't give a crap if you hate Edwards, Boone, App State or anyone else that statement is completely uncalled for and disgusting. :puke:
