if i have an amount in my head can they find someone close to it? sorry for all the questions

no worries.

I'm sure they can, but if they are busy I don't know if they will.

I did it a week or so ago when the store was kinda empty. I'm sure if you could find a time when there were not 1000 people in the store you could get that kind of help.

At Christmas both of our families participate in charitable giving. Donations this year went to Joplin Schools Fund and a fund supporting veterinary care and surgery for pets of families in need of financial assistance in North Carolina. My girlfriend and I volunteer time cooking for a big thanksgiving or christmas meal in Atlanta depending on which holiday we spend in Atlanta (split time between Raleigh and Atlanta).

It's great to hear what so many are doing this year. Cheers to you all.

You can also tell them to look for certain things.

Like, if you go to KMart, tell them you want one with lots of toys and children's clothing on it.

Obv Toys R Us will have toys on every order, but KMart will give you a better idea that its a family you are providing for.

Where is this Angel Tree everyone is talking about? Might have to do that one next year.

So we dropped the sandwiches off and I felt alot of pride when both my son and daughter took the boxes into the soup kitchen and dropped them off. I could tell they felt good about what they were doing...You know a saying my daddy used to have is that a man/woman's value is not in the things they acquire during life but rather how they use those things to make someone's else's life better...hopefully I am passing that on to my children...Merry Christmas everybody!

We usually buy toys and drop them off at either the Elks or a Moose Lodge to give to needy families.

Annually, I donate to police organizations and if they are selling tickets to a Muppets on Ice thing, I will buy extras and have them distribute to needy kids so they can go. It's gotten so regular that when they call me, all they ask is "same as last year"?

I was one of those poor kids growing up and I feel it's my duty to return the favor.

After years of donating major bucks and time to the SPCA, I'm now on the board and we (the SPCA) have been able to get someone on the inside at the local pound. We've gotten to where the county pound isn't euthanizing very many dogs at all because we're able to get them to rescue organizations up and down the east coast.

We made our last run of 2011 and got all of the dogs adopted to rescues through the New Year holiday.

In the meantime, our 1-year old pup was hit by a truck Monday and we just brought him home from the hospital tonite. I was crying like a baby just to see him conscious and his tail working. 2-3 months of no activity. He had a rod, plate and 11 screws put into a broken femur. He's got 40 staples up his leg and he's in pain, but he knows he's home.... the best gift I could ask for.
